Uniting AgeWell EA EA Update 6 - Employer Offer Uniting AgeWell has confirmed its final offer for member Consideration. After feedback from the ANMF UAW has amended Its wage offer and clarified its position on a number of outstanding matters as follows: Clause 5 – Duration – a 3.5 year agreement expiring on 31/7/2018. Clause 14 – Wage Increase 3.25% from the first full pay period following the Agreement being made (no backpay); and 3.25% from the first full pay period in July 2015; and 3.25% from the first full pay in July 2016 3.25% from the first full pay period in July 2017; and 2% from the first full pay in July 2018 Clause 21 Buddy Allowance – Residential $1.50 per hour payable to ECA’s and Service employees who are allocated to buddy a new staff member – max. 2 shifts Clause 23.2 New Enrolled Nurse – In Charge provision. Allowance to start at $21.85 and increasing to $24.23 during life of the agreement. RN In Charge allowance to commence at $24 and to increase to $26.95 during life of the EA. Clause 31 Uniforms to be provided. In lieu a uniform allowance of $6.24 (General staff) – increasing during the life of the agreement and $6.24 for nurses (not increasing – ANMF is checking to see if this is the case) Clause 33 Nauseous work allowance – UAW have moved away from incorporating the allowance into the wage rate. Existing rates will be maintained – the allowance will be paid to: (i) laundry staff (ii) employees required to handle unusually foul and nauseous linen during a lock down resulting from an outbreak of an infections disease (iii) in specific situations defined by UAW – ECA’s (iv) in specific situations defined by UAW – employees more broadly so could arguably include nurses (in some situations) - the allowance starts at 27c per hour. ODY TEXT HERE> Clause 35 Meal Breaks All existing permanent rostered employees to retain paid meal breaks. Paid meal breaks to apply to those employees who cannot leave the workplace during meal breaks and who may be interrupted by a call to duty. Paid meal breaks will be identified on the roster. Paid meal breaks of 25 mins to apply for all residential shifts worked outside M-F day shifts. Paid meal breaks to apply to residential ECA’s, EN and sole RN’s where required to remain on the premises and on call during the break. Otherwise unpaid meal break to apply. Clause 36 Study Leave Increased from 3 to 4 days. Clause 39.3.3 Additional week’s annual leave for Directors of Care/Care Managers Clause 60.1 Gradual Increase to the Night shift allowance – commencing at 15.25% and then increasing to 16.25% during the life of the EA. Clause 70.4 Increase to the ‘Less than 1 year severance pay provision’ to 2 weeks (was 1 week). Please attend our ANMF membership meetings to have your say.
