Rules for Setting-up the Car
1. Cars in previous derbies with MINOR damage may be accepted. NO WEDGED CARS.
2. Safety belts and helmets are required.
3. Cars may be any hardtop, sedan, or station wagon. No hearses, limousines, or Chrysler Imperials
allowed.
4. All Freon, glass, carpet, body moulding, grills, tail lights, and interior must be removed.
5. Gas tanks must be removed from original position. A metal boat tank or other suitable tank
must be securely mounted behind the front seat and covered.
6. Only one (1) 12-volt automotive battery can be used. The battery must be securely fastened to
the floor and covered with non-flammable material.
7. Radiator must remain in the original position. WATER ONLY, NO ANTIFREEZE.
8. Stacks through the hood are permitted. If not, must cut two (2) holes in the hood in case of fire.
9. All doors must be strapped, chained, wired, or welded shut. Hoods, trunks are limited to four (4)
wire hold down with no welding. No welding of any other body seams.
10. Welding of transmission and motor mounts is optional.
11. Cars must sit stock height.
12. Cars must have working front and rear suspension with factory shocks (no homemade shocks) or
you will remove them.
13. No alternation to suspension. No air shocks. No more than six (6) leafs max on springs. Springs
cannot be wider than 2 ½” with only two (2) clamps per side. NO TAPING.
14. Tires must be DOT. No liquid, foam, solid or studs. No fork lift tire. Remove wheel weights.
15. Bumpers must remain stock. Bumper shocks may be welded. No additional bracing. No welding
on seams of frame.
16. No bumpers smashed or beaten in and no trailer hitches permitted.
17. Crossbars and dash bars permitted, not to exceed 4” in diameter and no other bars attached
except gas tank protector which cannot connect to the floor or frame.
18. Steel window net optional.
19. These are the general rules. Anything not covered will be dealt with by DEMO OFFICIALS.
NO WELD CLASS is 1980 and newer cars with ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING of any kind other than driver
side door and rear seat bar and dash bar. NO ACCEPTIONS.

Truck and Van Rules
1. Mid-size to ¾ ton trucks, vans, SUV either 2 or 4 wheel drive.
2. All 4 wheel drive models will only be allowed to run one (1) driveshaft.
3. No body or suspension lifts allowed. Body and frame must be factory height.
4. Frame must be stock, NO reinforcing anywhere. Rust holes may be patched with same thickness
material. No extra plating in anyway allowed.
5. A-arms cannot be bolted, chained or WELDED.
6. All glass and chrome moulding must be removed.
7. Any factory type bumper can be used. No homemade bumpers and trailer hitches must be
removed.
8. Doors may be welded, chained, or wired shut.
9. Beds must be mounted in factory mounts. Mounts may be removed. No additional mounts,
bolts or welding.
10. Beds may be welded or bolted to back of cab. Bed must be mounted in factory locations with
5/8” max bolt size.
11. Bedsides cannot be wedged or rolled in any way. Tailgates may be welded but not to bumper.
No other reinforcing will be allowed.
12. Hoods may have four (4) #9 wire holding it down. Must have two (2) holes cut in hood for fire if
not using stacks through the hood.
13. Only one (1) 12-volt automotive battery can be used. The battery must be securely fastened to
the floor and covered with non-flammable material.
14. Tires must be DOT. No liquid, foam, solid or studs. No fork lift tire. Remove wheel weights.
15. Stock gas tank must be removed. A suitable tank must be mounted in center of bed directly
against back of cab and covered with no flammable material.
16. Radiator must be factory style and remain in factory position, NO ANTIFREEZE.
17. Dash bar and seat bar permitted. 4” diameter maximum with no other bars attached.
18. Electric fuel pump may be used but must have on and off switch clearly marked in cab.
19. Welding of transmission and motor mounts is optional.

Power Wheels Demo Rules
1. Power Wheels Heat for kids 5-10 years of age.
2. Regular size electric Power Wheel, with up to a 12 volt lawn mower battery, (battery cannot be
mounted in the passenger seat), must be secured and sealed away from child.
3. All doors and tailgates must be strapped shut with NO sharp edges: use zip ties or duct tape or
other flexible product.
4. Tires may be covered with duct tape to prevent them from breaking apart.
5. Factory plastic bumpers must remain in stock location. NO reinforcing the body or bumpers.
6. Motor must remain factory with NO modifications.
7. Decorative changes can be made to make it look like a Derby Car, but it cannot reinforce the
Power Wheel in any way.
8. Helmets must be worn.
9. Please remember this is for the little kids, if you have made modification you shouldn’t have
your kid will not be able to run and will be so disappointed.
