Individual Retirement
Account Withholding Notice
Payments from your IRA are subject to federal
income tax withholding, unless you elect no
withholding.
You may change your withholding election at any
time prior to your receipt of a payment. To change
your withholding election, complete the appropriate
form provided by your credit union.
Withholding from IRA payments, when combined
with other withholding, MAY relieve you from
payment of estimated income taxes. However, your
withholding election does not affect the amount of
income tax you pay.
You may incur penalties under the estimated
tax rules if your withholding and estimated tax
payments are insufficient.

ATM Safety 101
Community Corner
Almost all credit union
members use an ATM at some
point during a typical week making deposits, withdrawing
cash, etc. By nature, credit
union ATM services are affordable and convenient
for members, leaving out pesky fees, and providing
expansive networks.
Casual Jeans Fridays – Food Pantry Donations
By donating $2 for the privilege, INFINITY staff can
wear jeans on Fridays, with the proceeds to benefit
local food banks. We are proud to announce we raised
a total of $1,101 for the 4th Quarter 2013, with $367
each being awarded to the following food banks:
Arundel Food Pantry, Manna, Inc. (Bangor), and
Project FEED (Portland).
However, with this convenience may also come a price
- ATMs can compromise your safety. Robbers often
see ATMs and their users as easy targets. But by being
vigilant and following some simple tips, you can beat
these bandits at their own game while enjoying the
perks of ATM usage.
The Electronic Funds Transfer Association (EFTA)
offers some valuable ATM safety tips:
•Always pay close attention to the ATM and your
surroundings.
•Be wary of people trying to “help” you with your
ATM transaction.
•Don’t use an ATM that appears unusual looking
or offers options that you are not familiar or
comfortable with.
•Don’t allow people to look over your shoulder as you
enter your PIN code.
•Do not re-enter your PIN if the ATM “eats” your
card - contact a credit union official immediately.
•Never write your PIN on the back of your card.
•Do your automated banking in a public, well-lighted
location.
•Never count cash at the machine or in public.
•When using a drive-up ATM, keep your engine
running, doors and windows locked, and leave
enough room between your car and others in the
drive-up line.
•Closely monitor your statements and balance immediately report any problems to the credit union.
INFINITY is pleased to contribute to the following
local organizations as part of its Community
Investment Program:
Amy Safford of Community Partners, Inc., accepting a check from Terry
Vetrano, Arundel Branch Manager.
Nancy Barrett, Portland Branch Manager, giving a donation to Claude
Rwaganje of Consumer Financial Literacy.
Check Your Credit Reports - It’s Free
Monitoring your credit history is one of the best ways to protect yourself from identity theft. Every year, you
can get one free credit report from each of the three national credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
You can request all three reports at once, or you can spread out your requests by ordering from a different
bureau every four months. By spreading the reports out, you can do your own no-cost-monitoring service.
To order your free credit reports, visit www.annualcreditreport.com, call 1-877-322-8228, or complete the
Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281,
Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

with a tax expert first before taking the
deduction).
