Christmas maze
1.
Santa Claus has to take millions of
presents to children all over the
world on Christmas Eve.
He is ready to start his journey, but
he discovers that two of his reindeer
are ill with the flu. He needs to find
a quick solution.
Should he:
 go with just six reindeer and
hope everything is OK (go to 2)
 call the local zoo and ask to
2.
Santa travels with his six reindeer:
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Comet,
Cupid and Blitzen. They miss their
two other team members and their
motivation is low, but they try really
hard and travel fast. Things look
good. After two hours, though, they
have no energy left. Six reindeer are
not enough. Plus, there is no mobile
phone reception for Santa to call his
elves at the North Pole for help.
borrow some reindeer (go to 11)
 go by flying bike instead (go to
7)?

Santa agrees to pay the extra costs
so that the courier will deliver the
presents to England. However,
Santa’s credit card does not have
enough credit on it, so the courier
refuses to do the job.
Santa decides to go back to the North
Pole and pick up the presents
himself.
5.
Oh no! Disaster! Santa has a flat
tyre and he has forgotten to pack a
bicycle pump and puncture repair
kit. He cannot cycle any further.
What a catastrophe!

Should Santa:
 leave this reindeer behind and
collect him later (go to 6)
 let the reindeer sit in the sleigh
with the presents (go to 15)?
6.
Santa does not want to leave his
reindeer on its own, but he knows
that he has to do this in order to
deliver the rest of the presents on
time. Then his mobile phone rings:
an elf at the North Pole tells Santa
that he has forgotten to take all the
presents for England.
Should Santa:
 call a courier and ask them to
take the presents to England (go
to 10)
 go back to the North Pole and
pick them up himself (go to 9)?

Santa lets the reindeer have
something to eat and drink. After a
short rest, they feel much better and
start to run faster.
When 75% of the presents have been
delivered, Santa has another
problem: one of his own reindeer
suddenly falls ill with the flu.

Santa decides he will go by bike. It
seems like a good idea. He is fit, he
has a good bike, and he has a very
large trailer. All the presents fit in
the trailer, so Santa starts his
journey and is happy about his
decision.

Santa has travelled only 10% of the
way round the world and is having
problems with the zoo’s reindeer.
They are too slow!
9.
It is 11.30pm and Santa has to return
to the North Pole. When he has
loaded the presents for England, he
has only a little time to deliver them.
Should he:
Should Santa:
 travel the rest of the way without
 give up? There is no way he will
them (go to 2)
 let them all rest and have some
food and water, then hope they
will be OK afterwards (go to 3)?
finish on time. (Go to 16)
 call Harry Potter and ask him to
quickly magic the presents to
England (go to 17)
 take a chance and hope he can
finish the job on time (go to 18)?
10.
Santa calls the courier to ask if they
can deliver the presents to England.
They say OK, but it will cost the
double because it is Christmas Eve.

Thank goodness! The zoo has two
reindeer free. Santa is relieved and
borrows them both.
Should he:
 put them in the middle of the
pack (go to 14)
 put them at the back behind the
other reindeer (go to 12)
 separate them and mix them in
with the others (go to 13)?

Santa puts the zoo’s reindeer behind
his own, but they complain about
getting kicked by the ones in front of
them and refuse to continue.

Santa mixes the zoo’s
reindeer in with the
others. This causes
trouble because the zoo’s
reindeer want to be next
to each other.
Santa puts the new
reindeer in the middle of
the pack. His own
reindeer are all around
them and help them a lot.
This is good teamwork.
The journey starts off
well.
The sick reindeer tries to
sit in the sleigh, but there
is not enough room. He is
squashing the presents.
Santa gives up. He cannot
get all the presents to the
children in time for
Christmas Day. He has
failed. He goes back to
the North Pole, gets drunk
and throws himself off the
roof.
Should Santa:
 move them to the
middle together (go to
14)
 move them to the back
(go to 12)?

Santa calls Harry Potter
and asks him to use a spell
to quickly deliver the last
presents. Harry accepts
and finds a quiet place to
cast a spell.
It is now very foggy and
difficult to see, but Santa
has a stroke of luck! He
meets a very fast rednosed reindeer called
Rudolph. Rudolph joins
the reindeer team and
guides them with his red
nose. Santa is able to
deliver the last of the
presents just in time for
Christmas.
Harry Potter has had too
much to drink at the
Hogwarts’ Christmas
party. His spell goes
wrong and all of the
presents disappear
completely. No one
knows where they have
gone.
