BEAVER INFORMATION
The beaver is one of three main animals in my wetland/woodland
biome model. It is an omnivore that eats mostly tree bark and leaves
of aspen, alder, birch and other trees. The beaver is sometimes prey to
wolves and coyotes which also appear in my model.
Beavers have incredibly strong front teeth that look like what
humans call “buck teeth”. These are an important adaptation over
thousands of years that help the beaver survive. It cuts down trees
with these teeth! Incredible! It can also defend itself and its family,
hold food, chop up food, and many other things with these teeth.
