Singapore’s largest countdown celebration in the heart of downtown Marina Bay which attracted
more than 350,000 local and international visitors to the Bay on NYE.
MBSC 2015 marked the 10th anniversary of this annual signature event co-presented by the
Urban Redevelopment Authority and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.
Set against the dazzling city skyline that Singapore is synonymous with,
MBSC 2015 spectacularly ushered in Singapore’s Golden Jubilee year (SG50).
The public found it memorable and enjoyable,
with increased satisfaction levels recorded across all aspects of the event.

WISHING SPHERES PROJECT
 A tradition representing the gathering of the community’s hopes and dreams for the New Year
 5,000 large red wishing spheres formed the numeral “50” amidst 20,000 white spheres
 More than 600,000 wishes were gathered at wishing stations island-wide and in collaboration with
schools, voluntary welfare organisations, various corporate and community groups

 Guest-of-Honour, President Tony Tan, delivered his New Year’s wishes to the 26,000 attendees

Marina Waterfront Bazaar
 350 community drummers and drum groups
 45 stalls selling a variety of items including fashion
entertained the public through the evening, and
apparel, lighted gadgets and light refreshment
performed live to sections of the fireworks music
along the waterfront promenade from 4pm to 3am

outdoor carnival and concert
featuring home-grown artistes,
international and regional DJs,
attracting more than 30,000 people
to The Promontory through the night

ACTIVITIES AROUND THE BAY ON NYE
Reflections of Our Past, Present & Future
 An animated projection using 3D-mapping
technology narrated the story of the nation’s growth
over the past 50 years and was displayed nightly
from 26-31 Dec on the façade of The Fullerton Hotel
 On New Year’s Eve, it culminated in a numerical
countdown sequence to midnight and served as an
effective visual cue for people gathered all around
the bay to countdown to 2015 in unison
 Developments around the bay complemented this
visual showcase with red and white themed lighting
displays on their building facades
