CAMP MERRY HEART CLUB SERVICE DAY
On Wednesday, August 8th, District 7470 will participate in Service Club Day at Camp
Merry Heart. The clubs of District 7470 have been supporting Camp Merry Heart
since 1952, providing the upkeep of buildings, donating camper scholarships and much
needed supplies. Rotary is an important component of the camp’s success. The day will begin with a carnival for the campers and Rotary
members from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Jim Stuart and the Rockaway Assembly
of God Church are allowing us to utilize their popcorn machine for the carnival.
Sign-up at a club meeting or contact PP Sheila to assist with our efforts on this important day. Camp Merry Heart is located at 21 O’Brien Road in Hackettstown, NJ.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
On Tuesday, August 7th, the Rockaway Rotary Club will participate in the annual
“National Night Out” in Rockaway Borough. This nationwide crime and drug
prevention event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch
(NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Rockaway Borough Police Department.
