FES FAMILY FUN NIGHT On Tuesday, February 23, the Fishers Elementary students, parents and staff helped set the FES world record for the most people doing the Chicken Dance at one time! 140 people participated in this dance (and the Whip and Nae Nae, Cha Cha Slide, Y.M.C.A. and Hokey Pokey)! Thank you all for your willingness to be silly as a school community, and congratulations on setting this record!! Dollars for Seniors Nears As the winds of March blow in so does the annual Dollars for Seniors (DFS) tradition! Soon, more than 100 local seniors will take to the phones in a telethon style scholarship fundraiser. What makes DFS so special is that it rewards student effort and is not simply based on merit or need. Students from both area high schools work together to learn about local philanthropy, reflect on their time at HSE Schools, set goals, and try to earn money to help both themselves and their classmates pursue their higher education goals! It takes a lot of courage and a little practice for our students to dial the phone, so consider answering the call and pledging to help! Or you can give directly online in honor of the Class of 2016 at http://hsefoundation.org/events/dollars-for-seniors. Attention all Tigers! Girl Scout Troop #416 wants your old, dry up markers! The troop has partnered with Crayola and Mrs. Jarrett to bring the Colorcycle program to Fishers Elementary School. When your markers run out, recycle them! Any marker can be recycled including: regular markers, dry erase markers, highlighters and sharpies. Please look for and use the provided containers to collect any used up markers. At the end of the year, Troop #416 will collect and ship the dried up makers to Crayola to be repurposed and recycled. Thanks for your help in protecting the environment! HSE21 IN ACTION!
