CITY TO PURCHASE PRIVATE UTILITY
Over the last several years, City staff have been studying options for the annexation of property in the Key West area and how to best serve the area with city utilities. At their meeting on Monday, Nov. 2, the Dubuque City Council voted 7‐0 to purchase Twin Ridge Water, Inc., a private business that provides sewer and water services to approximately 100 properties in the Twin Ridge Subdivision in the Key West area. The City plans to integrate the Twin Ridge water and sanitary sewer systems with the City’s utility systems. “COME TO THE TABLE” BUDGET

Thanks to a donation from the Police Department, there is a bike in the basement of City Hall that is available for City employees to run errands to reduce fuel costs, reduce your and the Cityʹs carbon footprint, and enjoy some fresh air. Here’s how you can use the bike: 1. Check out the bike in GroupWise so you can count on it being there. Reserve the user ʺBicycleʺ just like you would reserve a conference room. 2. Get pedaling. The bike is available for all City staff, we just ask you to practice bike safety and BYOHelmet. 3. Lock it up! There is a bike lock attached to the bike that should be used to secure the bike at the location youʹre headed to. The combo to unlock the bike is ʺ3443.ʺ 4. Return the bike to the basement of City Hall so it can be shared by your fellow City employees. Please contact Cori Burbach at [email protected] or 563‐690‐6038 if you have any questions or if you notice that the bike is in need of maintenance at any time. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
