Sheila Smith, RSCJ

Sister Sheila Smith was born in
Montreal, Quebec. She entered the
Missionary Sisters of Christ the King in
1985. She came to the Society of the
Sacred Heart in 1999 and transferred
her vows to the Society in 2006.

Completing doctoral work
at St. Paul University,
Ottawa
For ten years Sister Smith worked with
youth, taught religious education and
served as pastoral assistant in First
Nations communities in British
Columbia. From 2003-2008 she worked
for the Canadian Religious Conference
as Coordinator of Justice, Peace,
Integrity of Creation in the Ontario,
Canada region. During this time she
became a founding member of PACTOttawa (Persons Against the Crime of
Trafficking in humans).
Sister Smith began doctoral studies in
theological ethics in 2008 and served on
the Canadian provincial leadership team
2009 - 2013.
She is presently completing her
doctoral work at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada.
