(Appendix 2, Part A) (an Amendment to Act No. 178/2001) MPC: the maximum permissible concentration of a chemical substance in the working environment PEL: Permissible Exposure Limit (TLV) of the chemical substance, i.e. the maximum permissible value of a time-weighted average (TWA) of the concentration of a gas in the air. Explanation of the table: The "permissible concentrations" box refers to the permissible exposure limits, known as PEL, and the maximum permissible concentrations, designated as MPC The " CAS number" box – the registration number of the substance used by Chemical Abstracts Services The "Notes" box: I – during exposure the substance penetrates through the skin or a strong irritant effect to the skin occurs. S – the substance has a sensitising effect. L – potential significant late effects of the substance are unpredictable. * - in the case of MPCs pay attention to the physico-chemical properties (e.g. explosiveness).
