Murang'a to gain
from high voltage
electricity line
This refers to an article titled,
"Residents up in arms over
power blackouts" where
Murang'a residents complained
of power outages affecting the
town and its surrounding.
The town has recently experi
enced poor service due to grow
ing demand despite the addition
of a power line from the Wanjii
substation. The major challenge
is the delay in the completion of an
alternative high voltage power line
from the recently commissioned
Githambo substation.
As soon as the issues are re
solved and the power line com
pleted, electricity supply to both
Murang'a and Kirinyaga will im
prove. In the meantime, the com
pany is seekingto engageboththe
local communities and county gov
ernment for long term and sus
tainable solutions to the challeng
es. We regret any inconvenience
caused to the customers.
