DMX, rap's ruffest ryder, has held the hip hop world spellbound with his raw, unbridled energy, unyielding passion
and lyrics of fury since his explosive arrival in 1998. After stand-out performances on tracks like LL Cool J's "4.3.2.1",
the Lox's "Money, Power, Respect" and Mase's "24 Hours to Live," DMX got the world's attention with his own street
anthem "Get At Me Dog." His groundbreaking first effort It's Dark and Hell is Hot, which also featured the
intoxicating, gritty joints "Stop Being Greedy" and "Ruff Ryder's Anthem" debuted at number one and quickly went
multi-platinum.
After making his long awaited return with “Moe Wings” earlier this year, DMX seems dead set on returning to his
glory days of chart-topping club anthems. DMX and fellow rap vet Styles P have linked up for the new track “Still
Scratching,” released over the weekend. The single has been met with success, garnering more than five million
downloads in less than a week since its release. Each rapper attacks the beat with his own brand of braggadocio,
with X doing background growls the entire time. Styles P starts things off.
DMX is currently working on his long awaited return album, which is set to drop later this year. This will be his first
album since Undisputed was released in 2012.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are an American hip hop group from Cleveland, OH known for their unique sense of melody
and fast-pace rap style. The group burst onto the rap scene in the mid-90s with smash hits “Thuggish Ruggish Bone”
and “Tha Crossroads,” and have since collaborated with a multitude of hip hop legends like Eazy-E, 2 Pac and Big Pun
amongst others.
N.W.A's Eazy-E signed the group -- initially comprised of Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh-N-Bone, Layzie Bone, and
Bizzy Bone -- to Ruthless Records. The debut release from Bone was an EP titled “Creepin on ah Come Up.” The EP
boasted "Thuggish Ruggish Bone," a conventional G-funk song with an unconventional array of Bone Thug rappers
that became an overnight summer anthem, especially throughout the Midwest. The single crossed into the Billboard
Hot 100, where it peaked at number 22.
Having come up in the Hot Boys group alongside superstar Lil Wayne, New Orleans rapper Juvenile is a Southern hiphop veteran, and a chart-topping one as well, having climbed the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with his 2004 single "Slow
Motion."
