Web Services Charges
1. Shared Hosting :
For the purpose of convenience, Shared Hosting charges are announced in the blocks
of 5 MB, 10 MB, 15 MB, and 25 MB etc. with certain assumption of traffic (amount
of data transferred) generated by the site. The Hosting Plans and their charges are as
listed below.

1.2 Terms & Conditions :
The following terms & conditions are applicable to all the Shared Hosting
Plans
¾ If the requested Domain Name is under NIC.IN, the Domain Name will be
registered for free of charge. If it is other than NIC.IN like GOV.IN,
ORG.IN, .AC.IN, .COM, .EDU, .ORG etc...., it is the responsibility of the
User Department to register the Domain name with the Domain Name
Registrar
¾ User Department owns, updates & maintains the Content
¾ The User Department has to update the relevant files/ folders and transfer
the updated contents to the server using the given Remote Updation
Facility
¾ The Site will be announced in India Image Portal (http://indiaimage.nic.in)
and banners are also placed on demand basis. The Site will be listed under
the respective section of GOIDirectory (http://goidirectory.nic.in)
¾ The Site will be included in the GOI Search Engine and the site will be
indexed daily to facilitate the GOI Search and local Site Search facility.
¾ Web based access to Web Site Traffic Analysis Reports will be given.
¾ Regular Backup facility will be provided
¾ The E-mail accounts offered with Hosting Plans will be under the same
domain of Web Site and they are Web based POP accounts
¾ The user department can report the errors/problems related to the hosted
Web Site in Web Based Support center available at
http://webservices.nic.in.
2. Collocation of Servers
The User Department can collocate their servers in the NIC Data Centre for the want
of large space & high performance of their web sites/applications. In such cases, NIC
shall help them in the initial setting up of the server in terms of allocation of IP
address, Provision of LAN port, configuration of the system etc. Subsequent
management/administration of the server (h/w & s/w) as well as the hosted web sites
/ applications / databases shall be handled by the user remotely.
Collocation Charges consist of onetime charges for the initial set up & recurring
charges based on the total traffic generated by that server. The Collocation charges are
as given below

2.2 Backup Charges :
If the Backup support is required for the Collocated Severs from the
centralized backup infrastructure installed in the NIC Data Centre, the Backup
Charges (in addition to Collocation Charges) are applicable as mentioned
below
Backup Charges for one Collocated Server is Rs. 25,000 / - per year
The User Department also has to procure and install Backup Software & its
Client License (used in NIC Data Centre) in the Collocated Server.
2.3 Terms & Conditions :
The following terms & conditions are applicable to all Collocated Servers
¾ Collocated Servers shall be rack mountable, preferably 1U, 2U up to
maximum of 4U
¾ The collocated server needs any additional space on NIC’s SAN, the
charges shall be as per Shared Hosting plans mentioned above. This shall
be in addition to Collocation Charges
¾ The server will be permitted to have maximum of five domains
¾ User shall also be fully responsible for maintaining the security &
integrity of the websites hosted on the respective servers.
¾ Users shall be asked to sign a MOU primarily to agree on various terms &
conditions related to content, services & security issues.
3. Billing Cycle
All the rates are applicable for one financial year. New users will be charged pro-rata
on monthly basis from the month of commencement of service till the end of that
financial year for the first year. Second year onwards the billing cycle shall be from
financial year to financial year.
