The Exhibit Committee is working diligently on Jefferson’s Ferry next exhibit, the Tenth
Annual Photography Contest. Residents and staff of Jefferson’s Ferry submit their
selected photos, which are judged by Karen Brannen, President and CEO, as well as
professional photographers from the community. We look forward to this annual event
as the submissions are proudly displayed throughout the hallways of Jefferson’s Ferry.
Timing in Life is Everything – Leonard Maltin
All signs point to it being the right time to make a move. It may be the best time in
years to take advantage of all of the reasons to choose Jefferson’s Ferry now. Home
sales are up in Suffolk County and on Long Island in general, according to the Multiple
Listing Service of Long Island. Along with home sales, median prices for homes are
up as well. This fall may be the best time in years to sell a home that no longer serves
your current needs or lifestyle.

wireless internet access available throughout
the 220 apartments and 28 cottage homes,
but Jefferson’s Ferry has also expanded and
improved the Resident Emergency Response
system. The previous technology was a wired
system through the telephone and was
limited in its use, only able to alert security and
emergency response teams to a resident in
distress only in their residence, or immediate
vicinity. This new wireless system has the ability
to locate a resident who activates the alert
pendant anywhere on our 50-acre campus.
This means that residents enjoying the walking
paths, bocci courts, putting greens, gardens,
or coming and going from the parking
areas, can reach security and emergency
responders where ever they are.
