ESPNnamedInternationalBroadcastPartnerfor2017Games
ESPN and Special Olympics have announced an expansion of their more than 30-year
partnership and a continuation of their alliance to leverage sports to promote social
inclusionandacceptancetofansworldwide.Aspartofanewmulti-yearagreementwith
SpecialOlympicsInternational,ESPNwillbetheInternationalBroadcastPartnerforthe
2017SpecialOlympicsWorldWinterGamesinAustria.
ESPN’scoveragewillreachfansaroundtheworldviaitsnetworksandmediaplatforms
inNorth,CentralandSouthAmerica,theCaribbean,AsiaPacific,Europe,theMiddleEast
andAfrica.Aspreviouslyannounced,ORFwillserveastheHostBroadcastPartnerfor
the2017Games,andESPNwillworkcloselywithORFtoensurethatthestoriesofour
athletesaresharedonaglobalscale.Moredetailswillbereleasedaswegetclosertothe
2017Games.

Everyday,Programsarelearningmoreaboutathletestrainingforthe2017Games.As
weknow,WorldGamescompetitionisaboutcreatingglobalawarenessabouttheskills
and talents of people with intellectual disabilities -- and the impact they can have on
families, volunteers and the community. The goal is for this awareness to extend far
beyondan8-dayGamesevent.Weaskthatyoupleaseshareyourstoriesnow.

The volunteer Technical Delegate (TD) represents Special Olympics, Inc., as the key
sport advisor for aspecific sport andshall beresponsibleforensuringthatthe Games
Organizing Committee (GOC) correctly interprets implements and enforces Special
Olympics Sports Rules and modifications, the rules of the relevant International Sport
Federationandcurrentrulechanges.TheTechnicalDelegateshalladvisetheGOConthe
