An American millionaire who loved sailing purchased the island only to turn around
and sell it because his third wife was a bad sailor. It is also rumored to have been
purchased by a Mr. Owen, a Hollywood film star, and a member of the royal family.
The island was also rumored to be used for secret military operations.
2. Why is Vera Claythorne going to Indian Island?
She has been hired to be a temporary secretary to Mrs. Una Nancy Owen.
3. What seems to be Dr. Armstrong's "specialty"?
He cons rich women with fake diagnoses and treatments for imagined illnesses.
4. What warning does Blore receive from the old man on the train?
The old man tells him that the day of judgment is very close at hand.
5. How does Lombard avoid answering Vera Claythorne's questions about the Owens?
He distracts her by telling her there is a wasp on her arm and pretends to swat it.
