H. Farewells down the Line
1. Emma: Pleasure to work with each and every one of
2. Sam: Thank you and you will be stuck with me for next year
3. Kevin: Thanks, I dont sit cases, but I still see all the hard work you put in
4. Kim: Coming back as rep, but thank you
5. Jacqueline: 4 years will be over in the blink of an eye. What you are doing
with UJC is so important. Work hard, but also enjoy yourself. It will be
integral to forming your character. Thank you for your dedication to this
agency organization.
6. Peter: Im not leaving, but I am really looking forward to next year.
7. Amy: I didnt know what I was running when I ran, but I hope you always
have an very informed person within this position. However, I was able to
enter the community and adjust because of how trained you all are. UJC
has been so much more than just a position for me. I do not want to leave
UVA, because I love you all so much and believe in your system. It has
been such a pleasure and I have truly found a community here. It has
truly been an honor
8. Jenny B.: Thanks for letting me serve this year. I have learned so much
from the investigators and now appreciate all of the nuances in the role. It
is something that I love to do and think about. I am so excited to leave this
in the hands of Annabel because I know she and the rest of you will do so
well.
9. Alex: Emily said she would pay me 5 dollars if I made myself cry. “Thank
you to the counselor pool for your amazing work and to Emily for being
the most capable and wonderful partner”
10. Emily: Thank you for the counselors who we got to train and see grow
and thank you to the other counselors who we got to learn with and from.
It has been a great experience learning on Exec and about what the heart
of UJC actually means. I’ve learned alot from Alex and it has been so fun
to have my “lawyer spark” rejuvenated by him.
11. Mitch: Echo what everyone said. THis organization is unique because of
the people who make it up. Yes also bc we are an agency organization
and have space up on the fourth floor, but mainly because of the group of
responsible, professional group of friends that carries out the mission of
UJC. You do all this while being full time students, which is not an easy
feat. We are all volunteers, which makes it so meaning to us. Our system
is beautiful with student self gov and spectrum sanctioning that other
schools do not have. This means we can evaluate each student as an
agent of themselves and can craft a sanction to bring people back into the
community. We are about second chances and recognize that everyone
makes mistakes. This organization is a home to me, and I know that Peter
and the new exec team will make it a home for many others. We will
continue to invite students into this organization to make it a home for
students from all corners of the university. I’m not going anywhere for a
couple of months, so please, if you need a friend, come talk to me.

that as a team, we can do it. Thank you
