Morgan DIRECTIONS From Mississippi/New Orleans: Take Exit 4 on I-10. Turn right onto Hwy. 188 and drive approximately 20 miles. Turn right on Hwy. 193 and drive 8 miles to Dauphin Island. From Dauphin Island: State Road 193 ends at a three-way stop at the water tower. Turn left and drive east approximately two miles to ferry landing. To reach Dauphin Island from Mobile, follow exit 17 from I-10 to State Road 193 and drive approximately 25 miles to Dauphin Island. From Fort Morgan: The ferry landing is located at historic Fort Morgan. We ask that travelers be at the dock at least 30 minutes prior to departure. During busy summer months, demand is higher, so we suggest that you build in extra time to accommodate the possibility of a wait. Be sure to check our Facebook, Twitter, or website for updates. Can I reserve my spot on the ferry? NO. We operate on a first come, first serve basis. Is there a round-trip ticket option? NO. There are no round-trip tickets. However, we do offer a discount to same-day return trips. This fare can be found in the ticket fares chart (left). My vehicle is longer than 21 feet, can I ride the ferry? YES! However, please call ahead for preferred loading instructions and to avoid potential delays. NOTE: Commercial vehicles such as fuel trucks, tractor trailers, commercial busses, etc. are prohibited aboard the ferry. Is my dog allowed on the ferry? YES! Pets are allowed and must be on a leash when not in a vehicle. Animals that are not people-friendly must be transported in a pet carrier or remain in your vehicle. What can I do while on the ferry ride? We invite passengers to go up on the observation decks during the ride. We frequently see wildlife, including dolphins and birds, and also pass historic Sand Island Lighthouse during the trip. How long is the ferry ride? The ferry ride lasts approximately 35 minutes and takes passengers 4.2 miles across the Mobile Bay. Please call (251) 861-3000 with all additional questions.
