Help build the new Program Center!

Help build
the new
Program
Center!
The Goal? Six Million Cans!
This will raise $100,000
for the Program Center!
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are collecting aluminum
cans to help raise money for the new joint Program
Center to be built off I-90/Hwy 20 in Cherry Valley, Illinois.
This is an opportunity for every Scout to participate in
this historic campaign!
Why should you help?
The new Program Center is being built to offer indoor/outdoor
program and overnight opportunities for Boy Scouts and Girl
Scouts: new training facilities will positively impact every adult
who works with Boy Scouts of the Blackhawk Area Council and
Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois.
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will have personal ownership in their
new Program Center.
It will help to clean up the community, save the environment
and serve as a community service project for Good Turn For
America.

What to do with all those cans
Individuals and troops may deliver cans to participating recycling sites (listed below)—don’t forget to provide your name,
troop/unit number to the site technician for record-keeping of pounds collected OR redeem for cash and send it to the
Boy Scout office or any Girl Scout service center along with the pound count and name to be credited. A picture ID is
needed to redeem cans for cash. At the Elgin Recycling Centers, please tell them your donation code is UFY.
We suggest individual units keep track of the total pounds redeemed, amount received, date and site location in which
the cans are deposited.
If the recycling center hands the money to you, please send it to your local Boy Scout or Girl Scout office, along with your troop information.
