Making Surrey a better place
Read Yourself Well
Many of us today have difficulties in coping with the problems we find in our
lives. We may feel angry, stressed or experience depression. Read Yourself Well
is a collection of self-help books, which can help us to deal with these health
problems. The titles chosen have been recommended by health professionals and
are designed to give practical information and advice.
Self-help books can be very effective when read on their own, or when used with
prescribed medication, counselling or therapy. They can also encourage selfawareness and understanding of health issues.
These books have been chosen for their practical information, advice and selfhelp approach. The aim is for people to develop strategies for coping and for
improving their health and well-being.
Copies of all these titles can be found in the Surrey libraries listed on the back
of this booklet. The books can be borrowed for either 3 or 6 weeks, and if a
particular title is not available, then it can be requested for you on payment of a
small reservation fee. As well as the titles listed here, Surrey libraries hold a vast
range of books and information DVDs on health and well-being topics.
