Uniform Policy
Uniform colors: Navy Blue, White, Khaki, and Black. Uniform clothing must be of solid colors (a thin stripe of
uniform color on collars or cuffs may be permitted). The only acceptable words or logos are those related to
Valhalla Elementary School. Only clothing of uniform colors that follows the uniform policy is to be worn
inside the building. (Coats and sweatshirts to be worn outside may be of any color or style). Clothing should
be clean and free of holes.
Tops




A shirt with a collar must be worn
each day (polo, button-down, turtleneck)
Undershirts must be uniform color
Sweaters and sweatshirts of
uniform color may be worn inside
over a collared uniform shirt
Hooded sweatshirts of uniform
color may be worn but hoods must
be down inside
Bottoms
 Straight-legged, docker-style pants,
capris, shorts. Skirts, skorts and
dresses may be worn.
 No more than one size larger than
waist and worn at the waist (clothing
may not sag)
 Belts must be uniform color
 Hems on shorts, skirts, skorts and
dresses may be no more than 2
inches above the knee
 Leggings of uniform color may be
worn under skirts, skorts, or
dresses, but may not be worn by
themselves as pants
 Denim, skinny pants, stretch pants,
sweats, yoga pants, spandex,
overalls, or pants with zippers on
the legs may not be worn
Undershirts must
be uniform color
Skinny pants and
pants with zippers
are not uniform
Shoes, Socks, Tights
 Shoes must be close-toed and closeheeled, with no more than 1-inch
heels
 Shoelaces must be tied
 Socks must be of uniform color
 Tights or leggings worn under skirts,
skorts or dresses must be of
uniform color
 Shoes with wheels or hidden heels
may not be worn
Miscellaneous
 Bandannas and headbands with long
scarves are not permitted
 Hats may be worn outside only
Inside, hats must be put away
 Make-up should not be worn
 Shirts longer than the length of the
arm should be tucked into pants.
Shirts may not be tied or banded.
 Non-uniform Valhalla shirts and
sweatshirts from school activities
and the PTA (for example, track
shirts) may be worn on Fridays only
Leggings must be
solid uniform color
*Please be advised that not all uniform
clothing sold in stores adheres to the
Valhalla Uniform Policy. Please be sure to
refer to the uniform policy before
purchasing clothing.
**Students that arrive at school out of
uniform will be sent to the office to
change. A note may also be sent home to
advise families that their student was out
of uniform.

if your family needs assistance with
uniform clothing. The Uniform Closet also
welcomes donations anytime!!
****The Valhalla PTA has uniform tops
available for purchase at different times
during the year.
