MashRome Film Fest – Rome

MashRome Film Fest is the first festival in Italy dedicated to mash up and remix. The
MashRome Association wants to promote the mash up and remix as new languages able to
express new experimental forms of art. The first edition took place in Rome.
The third edition took place in Rome on June, 2014 and it showcased previews of the best new
mash-ups of filmmakers from all over the world. The 3rd edition presented over 120
International films and has as Honorary President the English director Peter Greenaway.
The Co-founder are Alessandra Lo Russo has a long experience in the organization of cinematic and
cultural events.

The Rome Independent Film Festival (RIFF) is the Rome's first independent and international film
festival. Its aim is to unite enthusiasm for films and filmmaking among young filmmakers with the
realities of film production and distribution. In order to encourage and assist filmmakers in their
endeavours, the festival concludes with an awards ceremony, The RIFF Awards, which awards
prizes of either monetary value or money in-kind. The winning films, in a number of categories,
are chosen by an international jury of experts from various fields within the film industry.

Responsibilities: Main aim was to build and develop International relations with Embassies, cultural
and tourism office in order to programme Isola Mondo, the International festival born in 1995 in
Rome in the Tiberina Island.
Scenario: L'Isola del Cinema is a 80 days festival during the Roman Summer. On its 16th edition,
the festival host actors, directors and international premiére from all over the world.
Among the Events of 16th Edition:
Festival Isola Mondo: organization of a seven days international festival with 9 premiére from
different Countries: Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Israel, Turkey, Japan, Romany and Russia.
International premiére: Dear Doctor and Summer Wars (Japan); Arrancame la vida (Mexico), So
gluckich war ich noch nie (Germany), 5 hours from Paris (Israel), Filantropica (Romany), Los
Paranoicos (Argentina), Vicdan (Turkey), Styliagi (Russia).
Among the Events of 15th Edition: Japanitaly, a 2 night event of cinema, theatre and music on the
Japanese culture, realized in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Italy, the Japanese
Institute in Rome, Romics, Jro. International Premiére: “It all begins at sea” from Israel, “Captain
Abu Raed” from Jordan, Amalfi and Musashi from Japan.
Programming the screening in the 2 theatres: one open air “Arena” and one closed theater. Among
Italian and international guests, the directors Marco Bellocchio, Marco Risi, Giovanni Veronesi,
Fausto Brizzi, Giovanni Piccioni, Giulio Manfredonia, Dario Argento, Davide Ferrario, Filippo Timi, Libero
de Rienzo, Valeria Solarino, Fabio Troiano, Marco Onorato.
Cultural events with the writers Ascanio Celestini, Massimo Carlotto, Alberto Angela.
Realization of a videoclip with Terence Hill in the location of Tiberina Islands.
