Red Cross Club

Reagan High School
Clubs
The Red Cross Club is a student organization that helps the local
American Red Cross. Reagan’s Red Cross Club holds an annual
blood drive that helps those in need and provides relief to victims
of disasters.
Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC)
Advisors: Major Benyo, Sergeant Smith
Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps is the student
led portion of the class where the students get to actually practice the leadership and organizational skills they have learned
during the academic year. Activities include numerous community service projects as a corps and in conjunction with various
school, local, and national groups. We also have a competition
drill team, competition and ceremonial Color Guard presentation team which competes around the state against other Air
Force JROTC programs, a shooting team, national academic
team and a new national cyber security competition for next
year. The program is also responsible for maintaining, raising,
and retiring the US and NC flag each school day.
Spanish Club
Advisor: Mrs. Rodriguez
The purpose of Spanish Club is to provide educational opportunities outside of the classroom for those interested in the Spanish
language and culture. The club also provides the opportunity to
meet with other CSB/SJU students and faculty interested in
speaking Spanish as well as international students.
Spirit Club
Advisor: Mr. Pinnix
The primary purpose of the Spirit Club is to provide positive
support for all athletics at Reagan High School. It is a club that
promotes encouragement for all athletes. The Spirit Club is open
to all students who want to support the school, athletic programs, and the community in a positive way.
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
Advisor: Mrs. Kennedy
SADD Club is a group of students dedicated to encouraging
Reagan students to make wise decisions, especially regarding
drinking, drugs, sex, and safe driving practices (such as not
texting when driving). We do projects for awareness of these
issues and also support other projects of SGA (Goodwill drive,
etc.). Each member signs a “Contract for Life” pledging to make
wise decisions and be a good example for others.

“It’s My Call” is an opportunity for students to selfevaluate and make a personal commitment. “It’s My
Call” allows students participating in extra-curricular
activities to LEAD BY EXAMPLE and demonstrate
responsibility through their choices.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

A nationally recognized exemplary random student drug testing program based upon RESPECT
for all student participants and their families.

“It’s My Call” is open to all high school students.
Students who participate in extra-curricular activities are required to enroll in “It’s Our Call.”

Private and confidential.

Testing is conducted at school by Partnership for
a Drug Free NC.

Students to be tested are selected at random.

Results are confirmed by a certified laboratory.

Student Government Association (SGA)
Advisor: Mrs. Sapp
The purposes of the Student Government Association are: to
develop responsible student leadership, to acknowledge the
opportunity and obligation of students to participate in addressing student and institutional concerns, to sponsor beneficial
student activities, to stimulate communication and cooperation
among students, faculty and administration, to foster community and strive to make improvements in all areas of the school.

While sports have always been
a staple in public schools, many
students are taking advantage
of non-athletic opportunities.
Students are discovering that
clubs not only help build
students’ profiles for college
applications, but they’re also
providing opportunities for
competitions, awards, and even
college scholarships.
Art Club
Advisors: Mrs. Willard, Ms. Evans
The purpose of the Art Club is to have fun with different types of
arts and to learn more about them. The Art Club is also a wonderful way for Reagan students to meet others and make new
friends.
Athletes for Change (AFC)
Advisors: Mr. Overby, Mr. Rader
AFC is a service oriented club geared towards athletes who have
trouble fulfilling other service club requirements due to their
participation in athletics but want to provide service for their
community. Membership is not solely based on school activities.
Asian Cultural Studies Club (ACSC)
Advisors: Mr. Kirby
The goal of ACSC is to recognize that we live in a multicultural,
global community. Promoting our understanding and acceptance of diversity begins the process of living in harmony
with others. ACSC members will explore the food, music, clothing, and culture of various nations to better prepare ourselves
for citizenship in a diverse nation.
C.A.R.E. Club (Cancer Awareness & Research for
Everyone)
Advisor: Mrs. Tate
C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Cancer Awareness and Research
for Everyone. The purpose of the C.A.R.E. Club is to promote
community awareness through volunteer activities.
Debate Club
Advisors: Mrs. Willey, Mrs. Crews
Debate Club meets every other week to discuss community,
political, ethical, and global issues that are important to the
students. Each meeting we work to improve our speaking skills
and learn new techniques of debate. The team will begin
participating in local and regional debates with other schools
starting spring semester 2014.
Drama Club
Advisors: Mr. Tabb, Ms. Devlin-Hall
The Drama Club welcomes students who are interested in
theatrical arts. Students will have opportunities to perform,
build sets, manage audio and lighting, and participate in two
theater productions per year.
Earth/Environmental Club
Advisor: Mrs. Heath
The Earth/Environmental Club is dedicated to helping clean
up our environment, learn more about our environment, and
educate others about our environment.
Fashion Club
Advisor: Ms. Watson
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Advisor: Mr. Rader
The FCA focuses on serving the community by equipping, empowering, and encouraging people to make a difference for
Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.
French Club
Advisor: Mrs. Berryer-Long
The French Club provides cultural enrichment for students interested in French. Students can develop leadership skills in implementing ideas for activities such as viewing popular French
films, researching, preparing and enjoying different French
foods, learning various dances from French speaking countries,
and learning and making some specific arts and crafts that are
French based. Each year is different as members change, since
it is a student-run club. A service project is a requirement, and
that also changes yearly.
Friends of Rachel (F.O.R.)
Advisors: Ms. Oliphant, Mrs. Dancy
The Friends of Rachel Club is based on an essay written by
Rachel Joy Scott, the first student who lost her life at Columbine
High School on 4/20/1999. Rachel’s message was one of kindness and compassion towards everyone. The group focuses on
empowering teenagers to be positive role models not only in
school, but also in the community.
Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA)
Advisors: Mr. Brown, Ms. Gregory
The FBLA strives to develop competent, assertive business leadership in students. Through FBLA students strengthen their
confidence in themselves, their work and their understanding of
American business enterprise.
Future Farmers of America (FFA)
Advisors: Ms. Miller, Mr. Gardin
The FFA is an educational organization for high school students
interested in agriculture or wishing to pursue a career in agriculture. The FFA strives to develop qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, cooperation, and citizenship through agricultural education.
German Club
Advisor: Mrs. Bormann
The goal of the Reagan High School German Club is to explore
the culture and history of German speaking countries and to
promote understanding of the German culture.
Glee Club
Advisor: Mrs. Dobbins
The Glee Club is an auditioned based performing group which
prepares and performs traditional and popular music with an
emphasis on harmonic improvisation and a cappella singing.
Fashion Club is an interest club for students that have a love
for fashion. Fashion Club is open to all grades and genders.
Students are able to express their interest in fashion, famous
designers, latest trends, and projects through Fashion Club.
The Prom Fashion is also a highlight of our club. We welcome
everyone to join Fashion Club!
Key Club

Family, Career & Community Leaders of America
Advisors: Mrs. Darcy, Mrs. Derouin
Latin Club
Advisor: Mrs. Genung
The FCCLA is a national student organization that helps young
men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and
develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving,
decision-making, and interpersonal communication.
The Key Club is an international student-led organization and
is sponsored locally by the Twin City Kiwanis. The Key Club
provides its members with opportunities to provide service,
build character, and develop leadership.
The Latin Club helps promote the study of classics while also
offering services to the school and community. There are
monthly meetings, typically held on the third Thursday of each
month.
National Art Honor Society (NAHS)
Advisors: Mrs. Willard, Ms. Evans
The purpose of the NAHS program is to inspire and recognize
students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in
art. The NAHS strives to encourage members in attaining the
highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service,
and to bring art education to the attention of the school and
community.
National Honor Society (NHS)
Advisors: Mrs. Barbee, Mrs. Putnam, Mrs. Mercer
NHS was established to recognize outstanding high school
students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS strengthens the
ability of each student to make a significant contribution at
school and in the community.
National Science Honor Society (NSHS)
Advisor: Mr. Winkler
The National Science Honor Society was established to
recognize and encourage scientific and intellectual thought.
The club strives to advance the students’ knowledge of classical
and modern science and to aid the community with its comprehension of science. We encourage students to participate in
community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the
pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.
Reagan Computer Club
Advisor: Mr. Sobon
The functions of the computer club are varied and include
building a computer, learning video and picture editing,
learning various aspects of websites from purchasing the
domain to maintaining the framework, and the potential for
earning service.
Reagan Girls’ Service Club (RGSC)
Advisor: Mrs. Tate
The Reagan Girls’ Service Club consists of 9th—12th grade
girls that volunteer 20 hours of their time in the community
each semester. The members of the club also raise money for
Susan G. Komen Foundation throughout the year.
Reagan Outdoor Adventure Club (ROAC)
Advisor: Mrs. Wrobel
Reagan Outdoor Adventure Club (ROAC) provides opportunities
for students to experience a variety of outdoor activities in a
friendly and inviting atmosphere. In the past, some of these
activities included hiking, cycling, whitewater rafting, paddling,
and rock climbing. Students may be novices or experienced at
these activities. Club membership forms and dues are required
for participation. Some activities are completely free, while
others incur a cost to the student.
Reagan Readers B00k Club
Advisor: Mrs. Fossa
Do you have a passion for reading? Then become a member of
the Reagan Readers Book Club! The Reagan Readers Book Club
gives students an opportunity to choose and discuss some of the
their favorite books. It’s a great way to exercise your love for
reading and socialize with friends! See Mrs. Fossa in the Media
Center for more details.
Reagan Shooting Team
Advisor: Mr. Gardin
The purpose of the Reagan High School Shooting Team is to
promote public awareness of the Hunter Education Program in
the public school system and offer students a positive experience
in all disciplines of the shooting sport. Students will experience a
variety of legal hunting methods to promote the safe sport of
hunting and shooting.
