WAKE ME UP! Girls Costume Requirements
GENERAL COSTUME NOTES
• Costume check will take place during class on SATURDAY 24th JUNE
• Any notes from costume check will be placed on a sticker on your child’s top for you to see
• On performance day arrive at theatre in TT uniform. Black footwear i.e. trainers, jazz shoes or plimsolls
• Elastic laces on footwear are useful to ease quick changing
• Students may arrive with a simple lip & gentle mascara pre-done at home but no heavy make-up
• Leotard (short sleeved) or swimming costume to be worn underneath costumes (any colour)
• Long hair tied up neatly using grips & hair bands (black)
• Visual references will be available on our Facebook page

TIPS FOR SOURCING AND ARRANGING COSTUMES
• Everyday clothing from wardrobes and charity shops tend to look better onstage than fancy dress items
• Items also look stronger on stage when fitted rather than baggy or loose fitting
• Bring costumes to costume check & performance in a box or case with student’s name on it
• It’s useful to arrange each costume into separate plastic bags or hangers prior to arrival
GROUP 1 (Teaching assistant ABBY)

24K MAGIC
• Theme: Street/Hip-Hop
• Main colour scheme is red, white and blue with gold/silver accessories/accents
• Baseball caps, head bands, bandanas, funky hair accessories
• Vests, t-shirts, polos, shirts, sweat tops
• Dungarees, shorts, jeans, jump suits, play suits
• Trainers, baseball shoes/boots
• Accessories: Belts, fingerless gloves, laces, badges, socks, flowers, sweat bands
• Accents: Sequins, ribbons, trims on clothing

WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO
• Theme: 80’s Wham look
• White logo t-shirt (Slogan of your choice e.g. ‘Choose Life’, ‘Relax’, ‘Big Fun’ ‘I Love the 80’s’)
• White jeans, shorts or joggers
• White trainers, baseball shoes/boots, plimsolls or jazz shoes
• White socks

• Theme: School Uniform
• White shirt, ideally short sleeved
• School skirt or pinafore dress – ideally grey
• White knee length socks
• Smart school shoes

GROUP 2 (Teaching assistant DANNY)
1.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
• Theme: Spice Kids – Each student has been designated a Spice character which will be written
on their name sticker this weekend
• POSH: smart dress, trousers, roll neck, smart blouse, tights (all items must be black)
• BABY: baby doll dress, knee socks, hair in bunches, hot pants (all items light pastel colours)
• SPORTY: Track suit or football shirt/vest top with track suit bottoms (any colour)
• GINGER: Dress or top with leggings (all items must be red, white, blue)
• SCARY: Animal prints e.g. leopard, zebra, faux fur or military/camo cargo pants with a vest top
• All characters should have footwear suitable for dancing that matches their theme

SCHOOL OF ROCK
• Theme: School Uniform Rockers
• White shirt, ideally short sleeved
• School skirt or pinafore dress – ideally grey
• Knee length white socks
• Trainers, baseball shoes/boots (any colour)
• Accessories to rock up the uniform: Caps, head bands, bandanas, denim waistcoats, braces,
fingerless gloves, leather jackets, denim jackets

GROUP 3 (Teaching assistants HANNAH & GISELLE)
1.
FREAK FLAG FLY
• Theme: Fairytale, Disney or Superhero characters
• A look inspired by a character of your choice
• Student must be able to dance freely in clothing & footwear
• Ideas include (but not limited to) Snow White, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Tinkerbell, Dorothy,
Elsa, Hermione etc.

• Theme: 70’s Disco Kids
• Bright and colourful clothing with sparkly accessories and accents
• Leotards, t-shirts, vest tops
• Flares, trousers, jump suits, skirts, play-suits
• Trainers, baseball shoes/boots (any colour)
• Accessories: Headbands, bandanas, afro wigs, belts, braces, long socks
• Accents: Sequins, ribbons, trims on clothing
