Our patented system consists of an optical sensor, a
camera and an OCR algorithm that takes regular
readings and transmits the resulting data wirelessly or via
a wired network. The Data Logger software option enables
users to log up to 10,000 meter readings in the device’s built-in
memory.
EdaFastCam
APPLICATIONS
EdaFastCam is the ideal solution for taking
automated readings from domestic and indus- trial
utility meters. Its compact dimensions make it easy to
install in virtually all meter cabinets. EdaFastCam is
suitable for use with Ferraris meters, diaphragm gas
meters and most types of water meter. Custom adapters
ensure compatibility with a wide range of different models.

INSTALLATION
EdaFastCam requires no specialist
knowledge to install and can be set up in three
simple steps. The software can be configured
from a PC interface via USB and our patented
installation technology makes installing the device
child’s play. Our foolproof system of LED arrows
enable you to position the device precisely and built-in
guides ensure that you position the device correctly
before final mounting. A mirror system ensures that the
mechanical display can still be read once the EdaFastCam
has been installed. Power is provided either via a built-in
battery or an external power source.

CAPTURING METER READINGS
The camera built into the sensor unit captures images of the
mechanical meter display, and built-in LEDs ensure that
readings can still be captured in low light. The patented
OCR algorithm transforms the captured graphic into a
numerical value with up to eight digits (including one
decimal place). The device can be configured to
capture readings at intervals from 1-60 minutes from
a wide range of meters using a range of fonts.
DATA TRANSFER
Captured readings are transmitted
automatically via Wireless M-Bus to a
gateway where they can be processed
using energy data management
software. With the wired version of the
system, additional readings can be
made at any time using an
appropriate command.
