1. To access the MailMarshal Spam Console, open Internet Explorer and browse to
http://mail2.ncc.coop/spamconsole.
2. You should see the following page. From this page you may log in if you have a username and password. If you
have never been to this page before, you MUST register as a new user. (Even if you have worked for NCC for
many years.)
3. If you are a registered “Spam Console” user, enter your username/password, otherwise proceed to step 4.

7. At this point you may choose to change your password by clicking on the Change Password link at the top of the
page. If this is your first time to this site, it is recommended that you change your password to something that
you can remember. Once you choose the Change Password option you will see Figure 5. Type in your password
that was emailed to you and then type in a new password and confirm it, then press Save.

8. Figure 6 shows the Home page where you will see a summary of the emails that have been blocked on your
behalf.

9. If you click on the “Blocked Mail” link, you can scroll through the emails that have been blocked and can choose
an action to take for any email that you find in this list.
Figure 7
A. You may check the box of an email and simply unblock it by clicking on the “Unblock” box.
B. You may also unblock AND add the sender to your safe senders list, by clicking on the “Safe Sender”
box. (A safe sender is someone whose email message will come to you automatically and not be
scanned for any other rules once it is determined it is from a “safe sender.”)
C. You may choose to click on “Block Sender” and it will permanently block the sender from sending to
you again, regardless of what they are trying to send you. (This will not block them from sending to
others at our organization.)
D. Or, you may simply delete the email.
10. You can also manage your safe senders and blocked senders list, by clicking on the “Manage Senders” link.
Figure 8
11. By using this page in Figure 8, you can directly add senders to safe sender and blocked senders lists simply by
entering their email address. (WARNING—The default action on this page is to block the email address you
enter. If you wish to put them on your safe senders, you MUST click the Allow this sender option BEFORE you
click on Add.
12. PLEASE BE AWARE that not every email should be released. If you do not know who it is from or you are not
expecting it, don’t release it, it could contain a virus. For this reason, not every MailMarshal blocked category is
available to you to release. Only the following categories are available: Spam, Spam Profiler, Language,
Unknown Attachments, Encrypted attachments.
13. When an attachment type is unknown or encrypted, MailMarshal DOES NOT know how to declare the email safe
and blocks it by default. If you release one of these types, again it is stressed that you should know who the
sender is AND you should be expecting an email from them.
