An end user may access Net Care from his/her workstation by launching his/her browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and typing in the IP address of the server where Net Care is running. NOTE: For this section of the class, it is important for the sales rep to become familiar with the software and its benefits. It is not as important for the sales rep be able to install PageScope Net Care onto the network server. This is NOT something that a sales rep would be doing. However, after installing Net Care from the CD Rom, you may have to start the Net Care Server. You do this by going into Administrator Services and “starting” the PageScope Net Care server. 1 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care SERVER SETTINGS SECTION Accessing Net Care Description Action Login to Net Care as an Administrator Open Internet Explorer. Type in http://localhost:9090 or if you were accessing another PC where Net Care is installed, you would enter in http://IP address of Net Care server:9090 Type in the password “admin” Click on the “Login” button 2 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Server Settings Specify the Discovery Range Description Action Specify the Discovery Range On the left-hand side of the GUI screen, select the drop-down menu and choose Server Setting Highlight Discovery Setting and Double Click Click on Add. Type in the Network address, i.e. 10.15.212.0. The Discovery From and Discovery To will automatically populate. Hit Cancel since this range is already set-up. 3 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Create a New User Description Action Create a New User Click on User List Type in your name for user name Type in “x” for the password Re-type password Type in your email address Hit Apply Note: Email notification is automatically turned on whenever the “Receive Device Status Notification” check box is selected with the procedure under “Configuring device status notification settings.” (section 6 ) 4 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Custom Group Setting Description Action Create a Custom Group Highlight Custom Group Setting. Double Click. Click on the New button. Create a Custom Group Type in SALES for Group Name. Select a few devices that you wish to manage in the “sales” group. Hit APPLY. NOTE: This is an important feature for companies that want to segment their machines by department or by floor. 5 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Email Transmission/Reception Settings Note that the SMTP and POP settings necessary for the transmission and reception of Email will be specified on this screen. These settings are used for the following functions: • Notify the Administrator/registered user (section 4) by Email when an error/warming/recovery occurred with the device • Notify the Administrator/registered user by Email when new update files are released. • Function that allows the PageScope Net Care server to obtain device counter information by CF2002/3102, Di470, Di3510-Di2010 and C350. (C450 uses FTP to obtain counter information). NOTE: Before configuring the PageScope Net Care Email setup, you must first create a PageScope Net Care mail account on your mail server. Enter in the information about Net Care mail account into the Email address (From) and POP Account and POP password boxes. Description Action Setting Email Settings – VIEW. DON’T change Settings! Double click on Email Function/Server Click on the check boxes for Device Status notification and Counter reader. View the remainder of the information but do NOT change any settings. 6 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Device Status Notification Description Action Device Status Notification Check the box for “Receive Device Status Notification.” Select the boxes for Fatal Error, Paper Jam, toner empty, etc… Click APPLY. NOTE: By checking these boxes the Administrator can receive emails with the errors/warnings that you determined. The person who is LOGGED into Net Care is the person who will receive notifications. If you want yourself (Registered User) to receive notifications, you have to log-in to Net Care server as the registered user you set up in section 4. However, a registered user can only receive Email notifications of devices included in his/her custom group list. 7 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care DEVICE MANAGEMENT SECTION Viewing Devices This screen shows all “MIB” compliant printers on the network. Description Action View a device’s status. Double Click on bizhub C450. 8 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Device Status This screen displays the Status of the printer that was selected. If there was a problem with the printer, the appropriate error symbol would be displayed. As you can see from above, the background of the C450 is yellow. This means there is a warning message, i.e. paper is near empty in Tray 1. What a great selling feature! You can tell the Administrator that he or she can fill the paper drawers before end-users start complaining to them! Description Action View a device’s printer status Click the “Status” Tab. This is a quick view of the printer status. It gives the Administrator one view to see if there is something wrong with the device. If you click on the sub-tab for Job, it will list all completed jobs that were sent to the C450. 9 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Device Network Settings This screen allows the Network Administrator to configure all of the network settings for the selected printer. Description Action View a device’s Network settings. Click the “Network” Tab. Click through the various sub-tabs. TCP/IP gives all the IP and DNS settings. Under HTTP – you can enable or disable. This is important if administrators do not want end users to view the device’s internal web page, i.e. Web connection. Configure SMB settings Reset the NIC card View Netware settings AND MORE…… 10 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing System Settings This screen gives a listing of all basic print engine information. Nice Benefit!! Description Action View a device’s System settings. Click on the “System” Tab and then on System Information. Here you can view device location, contact name, total uptime and firmware. Input Tray Click on the Input Tray Tab Here you can see all the available paper trays and the total capacity that each holds. You can also see what type of paper stock is loaded. Output Tray Click on Output Tab. Here you can see the total capacity of each output tray as well as the status of the tray. Supply Click on the Supply Tab. Here you can see the status of consumables like toner. Another added benefit! Support Click on the Support Tab. Here you can see Contact Information for the C450. This is where the Dealership/Branch can enter their information. 11 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Print Settings This screen shows all information related to the print engine on the selected device. Description Action View a device’s Print settings. Click the “Print” button. Here you can see device specific printer attributes such as speed, resolution, supported paper sizes. Click through the other sub-Tabs. 12 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Scan Information This screen shows all general information about the scanner on the print engine. Description Action View a device’s Scan settings. Click the “Scan” button. 13 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Count Information This screen will show total prints for the engine. HOT feature for Net Care! Description Action View a device’s Count information Click the “Count” Tab. Click on the sub tab for Print Counter Here you can view the total counter Click on the sub tab for Paper Counter Here you can see the total counter by paper size Click on the sub tab for Color Counter B/C it’s a B&W only MFP, you can view the total counter by copy or Print, large size paper, duplex etc. Click on sub tab for Scan/Fax counter Here you can view the total number of scan/fax clicks. Note: There are also tabs for Error and Jam logs. 14 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing Device Server Information Description Action Direct Link to Web Connection Hold down CTRL and click on Device Server This will take you directly into PageScope Web Connection! 15 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Exporting Data from Net Care Description Action Begin the export process. All this means is that data is exported in a manner that allows the columns and row arrangement to be maintained. The wizard will usually detect that the data is delimited. Description Action Ensure that the “Delimited” option is selected Click radio button next to “Delimited” Click the “Next” button to continue 20 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Using the Text Import Wizard – 2 of 3 In this step of the Text Import Wizard we need to specify what delimiters are used in the text data file. PageScope Net Care uses Tabs and Commas to delimit the data. Description Action Select the appropriate delimiters Click the checkbox for both “Tab” and “Comma” Click “Finish” 21 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing the Imported Data As you can see, the imported data is not formatted perfectly. With a little formatting in Excel, the data will look clean and professional, as seen on the next page. 22 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing the Formatted Data 23 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Graphing Total Prints With the device data imported to Excel we are able to manipulate, graph and analyze the data. In this case, we are going to create a sub-total for the Total Prints column. Description Action Create a sub-total for Total Prints Click to select the first empty cell below “Total Prints” Click the “AutoSum” button ( ) on the toolbar. 24 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing AutoSum Result Note the result of the AutoSum function. How easy was that? 25 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Graphing data Microsoft Excel also allows you to quickly and easily produce graphs/charts of data. Description Action Select the data to graph Click and Drag to highlight the numeric “Total Prints” data. NOTE: Do not select the sub-total data we just created. Start the Chart Wizard Select the menu items Insert , Graph 26 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Using the Chart Wizard – 1 of 2 The Chart Wizard in Microsoft Excel allows you to select from a variety of chart/graph types. In this case, we are going to accept the default chart type, Clustered Column. Description Action Since we are accepting the default chart type, continue to the next step. Click “Next” to continue. 27 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Using the Chart Wizard – 2 of 2 The Chart Wizard has a total of 4 steps. Each succeeding step allows additional fine-tuning of the chart. Since the intent of this lesson is not to teach Excel, we will finish the wizard at this time. Description Action Finish inserting the chart Click “Finish” 28 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Viewing the Graphed Data 29 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Counter Reader NOTE: The Counter Reader uses FTP server functions of the C450 that must be enabled from the device before this will function. The C350, Cf2002/3102, Di470 and Di3510-2010 used Email functions. In order to obtain and view account counter information, the Copy Track function of a device must be enabled. Description Action Counter Reader Click on Counter Reader from the drop-down menu Highlight the C450 and click on OK 30 bizhub C450 PageScope Net Care Description Action Counter Reader The screen below allows you to change your term of the data you wish to obtain, i.e. monthly or daily. View the different counter settings that you can track, i.e. total counter, size counter, track counter, user counter. Click OK Highlight a user name, i.e. Tim. Click Detail as shown below.
