for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
Sunday, November 25, 2012 / Muharram 11, 1434
After further discussions and deliberations the Jami’yyatul Ulama Canada /Canadian
Council of Muslim Theologians has concluded regarding the prayer timings of Esha and
Fajr, that both timings, old (12 degrees for Esha and 15 degrees for Fajr) and new (15
degrees for Esha and 18 degrees for Fajr) have been narrated and established by our
illustrious jurists and scholars. Members within the the Jami’yyatul Ulama Canada
/Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians adhere to either one of the two opinions.
The the Jami’yyatul Ulama Canada /Canadian Council of Muslim Theologians advises
the general public to follow and adhere to the scholars and timings they are satisfied with.
Both opinions and their adherents should be respected.
