This list is comprised of varied level books. We recommend that your child choose a “Just Right” book. To
quickly determine this, have your child read a few sentences from the book before purchasing it. If he/she
struggles with many words in one sentence, it may be too difficult. If your child quickly and easily reads
the text, it is probably not challenging enough.
*During the first week of school, students will be asked to conduct a book talk on
one book and write a letter to their teacher on another book from their summer reading.
