Michigan Street Indianapolis, Indiana Dear Sir: I, as Edwin C. Aaron, Secretary-Treasurer of Local No. I.B.T., I have been given the "go sign" by Mr. Burger. I am the Negro, who has went hungry, sweated blood, been shot at, been in jail for this Loo*l. I didn't think the International Brotherhood of Teamsters were a "Jim Crow" Organization. I have paid per capita tax, never was given a Charter, I am sorry to say, I will have to take my case to the Supreme Court. I have a membership of 123 Paid members. I had planned on giving a Victory Dance on December 30th, 19^9 and have a Victory Book. I gave my book to two men, a Mr. Tomas and Mr. Coleman to collect advertisement for this purpose to raise funds for sick and death benefits for Livery and Cab drivers. These men were using it as a racket and were using my name over the phone, and impersonating me. These men were arrested on the 17th of this month, eught (6) days after I had given it to them. I alto signed a Contract with them. I was called into the States Attorney Police Office to answer questions pertaining to these men for something I knew nothing of. EOWtM AARON MCY-CTHt *. My vice President, President, and three Timstees, and twenty more members have secured a Lawyer and will take our case to the American Federation of Labor. I don't want sympathy from you, I only want justice, there are ij.9 local's in an around Chicago that are Teamsters, Local 330,000 Negroes that don't know that Teamsters are "Jim Crow". The American Federation of Labor has over 6$0,000 dues paying Negro members. About 8,000 in an around Chicago in the Teamsters. If Samuel Gompera did know that the Brotherhood of Teamsters were a "Jim crow" outfit he would turn over in his grave. Did you know that the A.F. of L. was formed in 1881 and led for !(.0 years by an immigrant Jew, Samuel Gomper, the greates Labor Leader in History. And do you know the A.F. of L. was named by a Negro brother Orandiaon colored delegate from Pittsburg. At a A.F. of L. Convention, 1681, equal opportunity an equal pay an right* for all. Mr. Burger told me to carry pypeople to the CIO or anyplace that I wanted to take them, that's a^l in the making. All records and files of Membership, have been turned over to an able bodied Attorney. I will continue my work of organizing Negroes (Livery and Taxicab Drivers) throughout the Southside. Please give this your earliest consideration. P.S. There are 1800 Livery and Taxicab Drivers throughout the Southside, I have contacted all the owners and we were supposed to go into Mr. Burger's Office at 3:00 P.M. today (August 19th), I called them in and told them that the me ^ing will be held in the near future.
