Cabinet Room
Policy Alcoves
Timeline
A reconstruction of the
White House Cabinet
Room allows visitors to
see the process of critical
decision making and
the organization of the
White House staff and the
Cabinet during the Clinton
Administration.
These 14 alcoves feature
multimedia exhibits
which present important
policy challenges and
solutions of the Clinton
Administration. The
alcoves surround columns,
which are 28 feet tall, filled
with historical documents
amounting to three
percent of the documents
in the Clinton archives.
This exhibit puts the
Clinton Administration
in historical perspective,
presenting key
international, domestic,
and economic events.

The Anne Frank Tree
In 2009, the Clinton Center was one of
only eleven entities in the United States to
receive a young tree from the Anne Frank
Center for Mutual Respect’s “Sapling
Project.” The sapling was taken from the
white horse chestnut tree which was
visible from the Secret Annex where Anne
Frank and her family hid from the Nazis
during the occupation of Amsterdam.
To honor the spirit of Anne Frank, the Clinton Foundation and the Sisterhood
of Congregation B’nai Israel joined together to create a powerful, permanent
installation which surrounds the Anne Frank Tree sapling in the Clinton Presidential
Park.
The installation allows visitors to reflect on the complex history of human rights
in Arkansas and throughout the world. Our state history encompasses the Indian
Removal Act of 1830, the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II,
and the Central High School desegregation crisis of 1957. These historical episodes
serve as poignant and painful reminders of Arkansas’s complicated journey toward
social justice.
The construction was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Ben J. Altheimer
Charitable Foundation, the TRG Foundation, and other generous sponsors.

As part of the Clinton Center’s mission, we present unique temporary exhibits with
coordinating educational programs and events. Featuring a variety of historical and
cultural topics, our temporary exhibits offer educators and students an engaging
learning experience.
We offer an optional classroom component, which includes a 20-minute, ageappropriate classroom activity and a 40-minute tour, including portions of both
the permanent and temporary exhibits. See each grade-level section for more
information about classroom activities.
Now – September 11, 2016
Temporary Exhibits
Set against the backdrop of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and 20 years
after the Centennial Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia, this exhibition tells the story
of American athletes throughout the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic
Games. By celebrating their achievements and athleticism, the exhibit — like the
Olympics themselves — honors the human spirit that unites us across borders,
generations, gender, and race. This is the first exhibit to feature significant material
related to American presidents and includes photographs, film, and memorabilia.

Postmark Deadline: November 12, 2016
