activity in Hot Cell. The Hot Cell is a specially designed

contamination and leak test.
RESULT & DISCUSSION
The Co-60 sealed sources are used in a number of
a p p l i c a t i o ns i n a g r i c ul t u r a l i n d u s t r y a s w e ll me di c a l.

products,

various
agricultural/food products for different purposes such as
r a d i a t i o n pr e s e r v a t i o n o f f r u i t s a n d v e g e t a b l e s , s p r o u t
i n h i b i t i o n i n o n i o n a n d p ot a t o e s , v u l c a ni z a t i o n o f r ub b e r
latex, decontamination of spices etc are some of them.
Te le t h e r a p y t r e a t m e n t o f c a n c e r, bl o o d i r ra d i a t i o n e t c a re
some of the medical application of Cobalt-60 sources.
CONCLUSION
