Industrie 4.0
in Baden-Württemberg
Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg
A network created to build the future of
industry
Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg is a
network founded and sponsored by Germany‘s
federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Our aim
is to pool technological expertise in production
as well as IT and communications to provide
support for medium-sized industrial companies in their shift towards Industrie 4.0.
Together with the network partners from
companies, chambers of commerce, associations, institutes of applied research and social
partners, we are striving to make Baden-
Württemberg one of the world‘s leading regions for Industrie 4.0 technologies.
Small and medium-sized companies play a
key role here and are the focus of our work.
The close integration of the various industries
involved and fields of technology allows
them to benefit from the Allianz to a particularly high degree.
To achieve this goal, we provide support and
reinforcement through a comprehensive package of activities for the direct collaboration
among all players.
At our joint booth we offer companies, startups and scientific institutions from Baden-
Wüttemberg the opportunity to present their
newest developments and improvements to
their processes, services or products to a wider audience with a special emphasis placed
on Industrie 4.0 solutions. Discover how the
industrial future can look like!

manufactures a wide range of optical and
audible signal devices as well as intelligent
systems for process optimisation in general
industry and logistics.
Co-Exhibitors
The Fraunhofer IAF develops electronic and
optoelectronic devices on the basis of compound semiconductors and ranks among the
leading research facilities worldwide in this
field. On the Hannover Messe 2017, Fraunhofer IAF presents its innovative radar technology which facilitates very precise material
measurements. In the scope of the research
project »InFaRo«, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology (BMWi), and
through the cooperation with the Baden-
Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University
Lörrach, Fraunhofer IAF shows how this radar
technology can be applied, for instance, in
the quality control of rotor blades of wind turbines.

Hahn Schickard Society for Applied
Research
We develop from the initial idea to the
finished product. Hahn-Schickard stands for
client- and industry-oriented and application-
driven research, development, and production with microsystems engineering. At our
three institutes, we do developmental research
in the areas of microsystems engineering,
micro assembly technology, micro-analytical
systems, and information technology. Furthermore, we develop products and technologies in the pioneering fields of industrial internet, life sciences and medical technology,
sustainability, energy and environment as
well as mobility.
IMS CHIPS
The Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart
(IMS CHIPS) is a trust foundation under public
law in Baden-Württemberg and concentrates
on industrial-oriented research in silicon technology, customer-specific circuits (ASIC), nano
structuring and image sensor technology. The
institute is partner to small and medium
scale companies in Baden-Württemberg in
particular and cooperates with internationally
renowned semiconductor corporations and
contractors. Headed by Prof. Dr. Joachim
Burghartz, 100 highly qualified employees
and visiting researchers focus on microelectronics, micro system technology and nano
structuring for industrial application and
technological exchange of knowledge. IMS
CHIPS is a member of the Innovationsallianz
Baden-Württemberg (innBW).
FZI
The FZI Research Center for Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
is a non-profit institution for applied research
in information technology and technology
transfer. Its task is to provide businesses and
public institutions with the latest research
findings in information technology. It also
qualifies young scientists for their career in
academics or business as well as self-employment. Led by professors from different faculties, research teams at FZI interdisciplinary
develop and prototype concepts, software,
hardware and system solutions for their
clients.
robodev GmbH
robodev provides individual automation solutions for cost-effective production and assembly of small quantities. In order to pursue
this aim, robodev was established as a startup in 2016, emerging from the robotics
research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The robodev system consists of integrated mechatronic modules and innovative software control. It enables automation
that is flexible and customizable, it especially
targets production processes that are currently performed manually.

machines and novel process sheets. Process
sheets adopt the operating concept of
spreadsheets and extend them with functions for processing and generating message-based transactions. The system allows
end-users in production companies to easily
model and rapidly build industry 4.0 systems
and processes without the need for programming knowledge.
