Aigaia School of Art and Design Programs of Study/Duration: Diploma in Art & design (2 years, Diploma) The 2 year diploma starts with a general introduction to all the major disciplines in art & design in the first semester leading to elective units in the second and third semester designed to specialise the students in their chosen discipline. The course ends with a major project in the fourth semester. At first, the students will understand the difference between the various art & design disciplines and mainly the difference between fine and applied arts. The students are given the opportunity to experience the various disciplines by working on specialised projects with specialised tutors. They will then choose the discipline most suited to them and specialise. These include: fine art (painting, sculpture, printmaking) and photography, fashion design, textile design, graphic arts, illustration, jewellery design, ceramics, theatre and costume design, interior design and animation. Through the teaching, the analysis and the application of various theories and ideas concerning the arts, Aigaia develops the students’ critical and analytical perception of the contemporary visual world. Through studying in this creative and unique educational environment, Aigaia’s students are encouraged to develop independent judgment on how to relate to and perceive art & design, about carrier opportunities and potential success. The successful completion of the two-year diploma will allow them to continue their studies in the 2nd year of Bachelor degree courses in the best Universities abroad.
