In numeracy we will be

addition, subtraction,
shape, multiplication,

During our Literacy this
half term we will be
looking at nonchronological reports and
their features. We will also
be looking at correctly
punctuating different
sentence types.

In our Science lessons we
will be finding out all bout
the Earth, Sun and Moon.

Birds of Prey will be visiting
our class on 21st September
for our Literacy work.
We will also be going to the
cinema to see In to the
Woods in November. More
information will be given at a
later date.
If your child has received a
letter about swimming, they
need their swimming kit on
Thursdays.
If your child is not going
swimming then full PE kits will
be needed on Thursdays
instead.
PE will be on Friday
afternoons, please ensure
your child has a kit in school
at all times.
Reading books are changed
daily; please read them
regularly (at least 3 times a
week) to earn book worms.
Please watch out for more
trips and visits.

SMCS
Year 5 must wear full school
uniform including a school
tie and black school shoes.
Year 5
Throughout our lessons we
will cover working together in
pairs, groups and people we
do not normally work with.
We will also look in to
significant events such 9/11
Remembrance Day and
international peace day
Miss Hoyle, Mrs Margison and
Mrs Turner.
Homework
Your child will be given a
weekly learning log
homework and a maths task
which will be given on a
Wednesday and returned by
the following Tuesday.
Snack
Snack is 25p a day paid to
Miss Hoyle. You can pay
daily or weekly.
Spellings will be given out
on a Monday and they will
be tested on these in
school on a Friday.
Please label all uniform,
especially jumpers.
