DIVISION CELEBRATION OF THE READING MONTH
1. This Office announces the Celebration of the Division Reading Month this November 2016.
2. This activity aims to rekindle the passion to read of both students and teachers and to
promote the effective ways of teaching reading.
3. All elementary and secondary school heads/OICs and coordinators of English are
encouraged to give full support to the aforementioned event particularly on November 22
and 23, 2016 where complete attendance is desired .
4. Expenses will be prorated to all schools (see attached), chargeable against Canteen FSD
Funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
5. English coordinators and trainers with classes shall make the necessary arrangement to avoid
disruption of classes. Utmost cooperation of all concerned will be highly appreciated.
6. Attached to this Memo are:

• Contest Mechanics and Criteria for Judging
7. Wide dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.

CONTEST MECHANICS AND CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
SPEECH CHOIR COMPETITION

The contest is open to all public secondary schools of Muntinlupa.
The contest piece shall be "THE MAN WITH THE HOE" by Edwin Markham, 1852-1940.
There must be 25 student-performers in each group.
The contest proper is slated on November 29, 201<6 at Muntinlupa National High School-Main
(Covered Court) at 1:00 PM.
The Speech Choir shall not be more than 15 minutes in length. Every exceeding minute is
equivalent to one-point deduction.
There shall only be 3 winners namely: First, Second, and Third Place. They will be receiving
certificates and trophies.
Awarding will be right after the competition.
Results will be FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.

3. The contest proper is slated on November 24, 2016 at Pedro E. Diaz High School-Main at
1:00PM.
4. The oratorical contest shall not be more than 10 mjnutes in length. Every exceeding minute is
equivalent to one-point deduction.
5. There shall only be (1) one contestant per school.
6. There shall only be (3) three winners namely: First, Second, and Third Place. They will be
receiving certificates and trophies.
7. Awarding will be right after the competition.
8. Results will be FINAL AND IRREVOCABLE.
