This effect has been seen on some picture for quite a long time, it is pretty easy to make and have the ability to
draw attention to your picture. And here is how it is done in PaintNET.
Open your Picture.
Make a new layer (F4)
Choose the new layer and name it rectangle (firkant).
Use the Rectangle tool to draw a White Rectangle on the new layer. Choose a brush size there will suit you
(I used a Brush size of 10px).
Use the Magic Wand-tool
Invert the selection
to select the inner of the rectangle
Choose the Background layer and go to Adjustments -> Hue / Saturation
Lightness so you got a pale and greyish tone.
For my picture I used Hue = -155, Saturation = 75 and Lightness = 40.
and adjust Hue, Saturation and
Choose the Rectangle layer and select the outside of the White rectangle. Inverse the selection, so you have
selected the inner rectangle plus the white rectangle.
Use ”Drop Shadow” from the Effect menu and choose some value there will give you a desire able effect and
blur it a bit. (I used this value for X = -4,Y = -4 and Blur = 10)
Use ”Drop Shadow” once again, but now you have to reverse the value of the X and the Y axis (I used this
value for X = -4,Y = -4 and Blur = -10)
Voila you have a nice frame with a inner shadow.
You can add some text to the picture as well.
Make a new layer (F4) and write some text on it, Use a big fontsize and scale I down afterward.
Make sure The primary color is White
Use rectangle select tool to make a selection around the text Click on the Move selected pixels tool and hold
the right mouse button and drag to rotate the text.
Deselect and choose the ”Drop Shadow” Effect from the Effect menu and put on a suitable Shadow.
The picture is finished.
