Beth Coiner’s jewelry represents an intimate statement of adornment, marking the wearer’s passage in life, much like a tattoo. Being raised in a small town on the coast of eastern North Carolina, and living in New York City for twelve years as a performance artist and designer, she developed a work aesthetic that is an example in contrasts. As a jeweler, her work draws from natural and architectural landscapes, creating textural designs that reflect both urban and rural tiny vistas. Whether the object is an original piece of work, or an heirloom that has been repurposed into a new design, the end result is a tiny sculpture, full of symbolism and sentiment.
