Shocking news has published today in daily newspaper Kawish that a live girl has been
buried alive in village Hakim Khan Mari, Taluka Sanhjoro, district Sanghar for marriage
of her choice, as two months ago Ms Sughra Brohi had married off with boy of other clan.
Later on, she was forcefully returned back by her family and after her returned back her
community decided to punish her by burring her alive. According the newspaper, some
15 day ago, at mid night, she was buried alive in graveyard of Bheel community of Hundi
religion in village Hakim Mari, near Sanjhoro.
I do not know what to say after having constitution, entitled basic human rights,
international human rights bills and conventions, charter of EU, functional HRCP and
vibrant for its own interest civil society organizations, particularly working in the same
area where event has taken place etc.
After that, there is also powerful police and masters of everything laws enforcement
agencies and district session judge who is also chairman of human rights commission
formed at the each district across the Pakistan etc.
Where, our society and nation is going on, even in modern era of 21st century? Civilized
world and nations have touched to peak of socio-political and economical development,
but we are not still able to allow our daughters and sisters to lead their lives according to
their choices and our state and ruling class have turned their blind eyes towards these
very human issues and the dignity of the poor citizen of Pakistan. In this situation, CSOs,
individuals and middle class is in the only hope to work for the positive change and social
justice for the poor people of Sindh and Pakistan. SO LET US JOIN HANDS TO WORK
FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND CHANGE BY VOLUNTEERING OUR TIME, ENERGY AND
FINANCE.
