were married June16, 1967,
at Eastern Hills Baptist
Church in Garland, Texas.
They moved to Sulphur
Springs in 1971.
The Bensons have two
children: Cory and wife
Sarah Benson and Nikki and
husband Ronald Flecker.
They are the proud
grandparents of four
grandchildren:
Thomas Benson, and
Maurie, Alex, and Valerie Flecker.
Pat Chapman and Gary Odom were
married on June, 1, 1967, at Rockdale
Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas,
by their pastor, Leroy Edge. We attended
Rockdale Baptist Church until
1975. When we had kids, we felt God was
leading us to a church where they would
have other children their age with whom
they could study and grow. We have been
members of First Baptist Church, Sulphur
Springs since 1975. We have been blessed
through the years with wonderful friendships and fulfilling careers, but nothing
compares to our beautiful family!
We have three grown children who have made us so proud! Julie, is a registered
nurse and lives in Keller, TX. She has five sons: Drew (24), and his wife Erica, of
San Antonio; Riley (17), Seth (14), Gage(14) and Ben (6) all of Keller. Brian is an
attorney in Dallas, TX. He lives in Heath, TX with his wife, Shelley (Vititow) and
their two daughters Sarah (14) and Anna (4) and their son Jordan (12). Erica works for
a local accounting firm and is an owner of two Snap Fitness centers in Sulphur Springs
and Greenville. She lives in Sulphur Springs, TX with her husband, Toby Armstrong, and their two sons, Tyler (17)
and Jake (13) and their daughter, Chandler (6).
God has seen us through much in these 50 years, successes and failures, joy and sadness but He has been faithful to
carry us when we could not make it on our own. We have had the joy of watching our three kids grow into adults and
have kids of their own and we have each had the ultimate sorrow of burying our precious parents. We are thankful for
all of God’s blessings over the past 50 years and look forward to what He has in store in the years ahead.
Tom and Dee Lou (Lucy)Thurman Massey were married on June
24, 1957, which was Lucy’s parent’s wedding day years
earlier. Tom was home on leave from the army. They spent the
first two years of married life on an army base in Fort
Lewis,Washington.
Tom spent 31 years with Exxon Mobil and has continued to
work for Cimarex Engery of Denver, Colorado, as a consultant.
Their family has lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and
Michigan as Tom’s career has carried him to most of the United
States including
Alaska.
Lucy has
been a stay at
home mom for
their three
children:
Tina Flora, husband Mike of Como; Tiger Massey, wife Jennifer
of Sulphur Springs; Kyna Saul, husband Tracy of Waco.
Tom’s and Lucy’s beautiful grandchildren are Candace Evans
and husband Andy of Como; Colton and Corbin Flora of Como;
Megan Massey of Fort Worth; Madeline Massey of Sulphur
Springs; Shelby and Cambry Saul of Waco; and great-grandson
Ely Evans of Como.
