Thursday Notes February 5, 2015

Thursday Notes
February 5, 2015
All are invited to join the children at the 8:00 a.m. Liturgy next week Wednesday, February 11th.
Only one more week until our St. Constance School Family Valentine Dinner Dance!
St. Constance School is a cornerstone in the Jefferson Park community and an important part of
all our families. The school has provided a stable place for academic achievement and
excellence. Your support will help us to ensure continued quality Catholic Education. Please join
us for this festive evening of good food, fun, and friendship. Tickets are still available for
purchase in the school office. I hope to see many of our school families there!
Our students will be celebrating Valentine’s Day next Thursday, February 12th. Jeans, gym
shoes, and Valentine colors (red, pink, purple, white) may be worn as a “free” out of uniform
day. An appropriate appearance is always expected and should reflect the theme/color of the
day/event being celebrated. Please note that if you are sending treats, please do NOT send items
containing peanuts or peanut products due to allergies.
Last week you received the St. Constance School “Application for Re-Enrollment.” These forms
are to be completed and returned with the $125.00 per child Registration Fee on or before
April 1, 2015. If you have a child entering our 3 or 4 year old Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten in the
Fall of 2015, please request an Application For Enrollment from the School Office. As a special
incentive, we are offering our school families a $250.00 referral stipend for any new registrations
that list you as the person referring our school. This $250.00 will be applied as tuition credit. In
light of our recent announcement regarding opting out of the Regional School planning model, I
am asking parents to do all they can in the marketing of our school. Word of mouth is the best
tool available!
Thank you to all who were able to join us for the recent Movie Night. I would like to express my
thanks to the Pavlik family and the School Board for sponsoring these events for our school
families. A total profit earned was $305.73 which will benefit the school.
As we look ahead, Spring Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Please
watch for information closer to this date.
On behalf of the entire Faculty and Staff, I would like to thank Mrs. Eileen Pavlik and the Home
and School Association for the delicious luncheon in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day. It was
truly appreciated and most delightful.
Thank you for providing for the needy of Chicago by giving to the Greater Chicago Food
Depository and St. Stanislaus Kostka Soup Kitchen. Your monetary donations totaled $100.00 of
which over 95% will go to replenish the food depository for the hungry of our city. Your
generous gifts of hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens will keep many Soup Kitchen visitors warm
this winter. Your kindness is appreciated. Projects like these send an important lesson to our
children to carry out Jesus’ message of love. Christian outreach opportunities are often right in
our own neighborhood if we just open our eyes and hearts.
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair 2015 was a huge success with total sales exceeding 30% over
last year’s total! A cash profit of $1,358.00 and $271.60 in Scholastic Dollars was earned. There
was a terrific variety of quality best-selling and popular titles to choose from for all ages. Thank
you to all school families, parishioners, and staff for their purchases in support of our Fair.
Special thanks to Mrs. Kathy Mulac, Mrs. Katarzyna Kasprzyk, and Ms. Erin Mikrut for
donating their time to ring sales during Open House and total our deposits. Thanks also to the
junior high students, Mrs. Lowder, Mrs. Mikrut, Ms. Prokuski, and Ms. Tanikowska for their
hard work setting up and packing up the fair. All proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair go to
improve our school library.
Congratulations are extended to Adrian Sieklucki whose original work of poetry has been chosen
for publication in the 2015 edition of the Anthropology of Poetry by Young Americans.
Thousands of poems are received each year and only the most creative of those are chosen for
publication. Great job Adrian!
Have a pleasant weekend.
Sincerely,
Eva M. Panczyk
