Last Will and Testament of Clement N. Burton Clarksville, Butler County, Iowa In the name of God, Amen-I, Clement N. Burton of Butler County, Iowa, of the age of sixty-five Years, and being of sound mind, and memory, do make publish, and declare, this my last will, and testament, in manner following, that is to say: First: I give and bequeath unto my wife Rachel Burton all my real and personal property of every kind ?[forever?], to be nejoyed by her, for and during the term of her natural life, and after her death, the same shall be disposed of in manner following, that is to say: I desire that at the death of my said wife Rachel Burton, all my property real and personal, shall be equally divided among all my children, taking into consideration that which they have already received by way of advancement. William E. Burton has had in value One hundred and seventy five dollars. Lucinda Burton has had in value Seventy five dollars James M. Burton has had in value One hundred and seventy five dollars. J Moshier has had in value ninety dollars, H.F.L. Burton has had in value One hundred and seventy five dollars. Lucretia Crowel has had one hundred and seventy five dollars in value. Rachel Poisall has had in value three hundred and fifty five dollars. George H. Burton has had in valued Two hundred and seventy five dollars. Clement J. Burton has had in value Two hundred and seventy five dollars. Mary E. Burton has had Two hundred and seventy five dollars. I desire that at the death of my wife Rachel Burton my property may be divided amongst all my children so that each may receive an amount equal in value to that already received by Rachel Poisall, always taking into consideration the amount which they have already received, as described above then if any thing remaining, it is to be divided equally amongst them. it being my intention to give no preference to one of my children over another. I further desire that my son Hugh F. L. Burton shall act as Executor to the above will. Dated at Clarksville this Nineteenth day of January A.D. 1864 In the presence of} Clement N. Judge have already received, as described above then if any thing remaining, it is to be divided eqally amongst them, it being my intention to give no preference to one of my children over another.
