SHAKESPEARE WEEK
Shakespeare Week is a national annual celebration giving primary school
aged children opportunities for enriching and enjoyable early encounters
th
with Shakespeare. On Monday 27 March we concluded our studies about
Shakespeare with a special assembly. Every class showcased the work they
had produced during the week. It was absolutely wonderful and each
performance was completely different but equally enjoyable. The children
really did delight in the experience and are all able to tell you something
about the play they were studying. Well done children and Mrs Stock for
organising the week!
YEAR 6 ASSEMBLY
rd
Year 6 ‘wowed’ the whole school on Thursday 23 of March
with an amazing assembly linked to their topic ‘Devastating
Disasters’. The acting, singing and children’s work was
absolutely outstanding. The children re-enacted part of ‘The
Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914–17)’, also known
as the Endurance Expedition, led by Ernest Shackleton. They
also intertwined parts of the play ‘The Tempest’ linked to
Shakespeare Week. Well done to Mrs Stock and the children
for this wonderful start to the day.

GOODBYE MR GANJAVI
th
Mr Ganjavi came into school on Friday 24 March so we
could say goodbye. Mr Ganjavi said that he would like to
thank the staff, pupils and parents for making his time at
Barford so memorable and providing him with such fantastic
experiences. We wish him the very best for the future. Good
luck Mr Ganjavi!
YEAR 1 ASSEMBLY
We had another wonderful start to the day on Thursday
th
30 March when Year 1 had their class assembly. They
told us all about Jack and the Beanstalk, it was fantastic!
The children retold the story through acting, writing in
books and songs. The children clearly enjoyed taking part
and staff, pupils and parents/carers really appreciated all
of the hard work that had gone into making it such a
success. Well done Year 1!
EASTER COMPETITION
We are inviting the children to decorate an egg, create an
Easter Garden or make an Easter Bonnet. They can be
brought into school any time during the last week of
term.
