marriage? Do you want to enjoy all the blessings of marriage that God intended? Are
kids, jobs, mortgage, health issues, & the constant distractions of life dragging down
your marriage?
If you are hungry to experience love anew, if you desire new intimacy and joy with
the one you married, then this is the retreat for you!
The elegant, pastoral setting of Glen-Ella Springs Inn, nestled in the rolling hills of
north Georgia, combined with the shared humor, experience and wisdom of Bill
Satterwhite, JD, MD & Katie Satterwhite’s 25+ year marriage make this retreat the
ideal place to renew your relationship. The couple draws on the personal,
professional, & prayer-filled experiences of their often challenging journey to share
with couples the rich, beautiful, fulfilling marriage that God intends for everyone.
While the retreat is open to people of any faith, the Satterwhites will be speaking

Bill & Katie’s Story
Bill and Katie met at Davidson College & married after graduation. Katie began
teaching high school English & coaching. Bill entered law school at UNC Chapel Hill.
Two years later, the couple moved to Vancouver, British Columbia to attend a oneyear course of theological study at Regent College designed for non-pastors. They
returned to Chapel Hill for Bill’s final year of law school, and Katie, then pregnant
with their first child, was placed on long-term bed rest.
Following graduation, Bill joined a law firm in Katie’s hometown of Charlotte. Child
#2 was soon on the way and Katie, once again, found herself on bed rest. Within a
few years, Bill began experiencing chronic pain & deep unhappiness with his work.
He sought career counseling and the couple engaged in much prayer & discernment.
Ultimately, both Bill & Katie felt a strong call for Bill to pursue a medical career. The
young family soon found themselves in Winston-Salem, NC where Bill entered
medical school at Wake Forest University. By this time, the couple had three
children under 6 years old. After medical school, Bill began his three years of
residency training in Pediatrics. During this time, Katie also got her Masters in
English.
After 7 years of medical school and pediatric training, the birth of child #4, and
more chronic pain in Bill’s knees and feet, Bill entered private Pediatric practice in
Winston-Salem. It was around this time that Katie began experiencing panic attacks
while driving on the highway. Through individual prayer and at prayer conferences,
Bill experienced the end of the pain in his feet and Katie was completely healed of
her anxiety & panic attacks. Then in 2007, their life story took a new turn when one
of their children was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Currently, Bill and Katie mentor young couples as well as lead sessions on marriage,
parenting and prayer.
