Ready Set Learn
On April 4, our youngest students-to-be attended the Ready Set Learn put on by our
Kindergarten teachers.
There are so many great things happening at Dormick Park
every day. I’m so fortunate that I get to see them, and I want
to share a few with you each month.
Here are 10 things that I saw this month:
It was a great opportunity for the parents to
learn about preparing their child for Kindergarten, and for the students to have an
exciting learning opportunity through play
stations. We look forward to seeing our new
students again soon!

4) Music Video in the Making
We are in the process of
working on our next school
video. This one will be for
the song, “One Voice”, and
filming and recording will take
place over the next month.
This was such a fun event for everyone involved!
We gathered at Rotary Stadium, and then ran/walked 5K in the dark with glow
sticks leading our way. Over $1300 was raised to purchase Recreation
equipment for our students. A giant THANK YOU to CBC for organizing the
event, and donating the funds raised.
We look forward to the releasing of this special video…stay
tuned!
3) Mousetrap Cars
Students in Ms. Legault’s class took part in an inquiry
project:
How can I make my Mousetrap car go the farthest?
Students used their findings from classroom-based
experiments to design a car that would go as far as
possible. Students used found materials to create a
car, then tested it, adjusted their design, made the
changes, and then tested it
again.
It was a blast to see the final result.
Way to go, physicists!
5) Recess Races

Happy Secretary’s Day Ms.
Pare`. Ms. Pare` received well
wishes and thanks from the

and we appreciate her so much.
9)
Vasaikhi
To celebrate and learn about Vasaikhi, staff and students from Eugene Reimer Middle and our own Jashan, performed traditional dance
for us. Staff and students came dressed in their finest Indian suits.
Thank you to Mrs. Young for organizing these events.
7) Beans, Pumpkins, and Flowers!
Kindergarten students are learning about plants, and what
helps them grow. They are excited to see the growth when
they arrive at
school each day.
We look forward to
seeing the plants
(and Kindergarteners) grow!
