The International Film Festival of Valladolid (SEMINCI) POSTER COMPETITION FOR THE 62nd EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL COMPETITION RULES March, 6th, 2017 AUTHORS All authors who so wish and who are over 18 years of age may take part in the competition individually or collectively. THEMES OF THE COMPETITION The theme and composition are open. Three posters will be selected from all the entries received for the following sections: • Official Section - Main image of the 62nd edition of the Festival. • Meeting Point - Section dedicated to first and second films. • Time for History - Section dedicated to the feature-length documentary. TERMS AND CONDITIONS The posters must be original and unpublished and must not have been previously submitted in any other competition. If authors use non-original features in their composition, they must have the necessary permission. It is recommended to avoid the use of common film elements in the composition, such as clappers, celluloid, reels, etc. The posters can be made using any technique or procedure, as long as they can be reproduced by technical and audiovisual means. Several entries may be submitted for one or more sections. Each entry must be accompanied by the corresponding entry form. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES The posters can be sent from xxxx to xxx 2017. The entries must be sent [email protected]. exclusively to the following email address: The posters must be submitted in JPG format with a resolution of 72 dpi. The file must have a size of 567x794 pixels (20x28 cm) in vertical format. The corresponding entry form must be attached and can be downloaded from the festival website (www.seminci.es). The form must include the full name, full address, telephone number and title of the poster. The entry form will be used only to identify the winning entries. The jury will not have access to any personal data on the form. TEXT OF THE POSTER The posters must include the following text: 62 SEMINCI Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid 21 – 28 octubre 2017 Entries submitted for Meeting Point and Time for History must also include the name of these sections. CHOICE OF WINNING POSTERS A jury made up of different people related to the world of art and design and a representative of the organisers will choose the winning posters for the different sections. The jury's decision will be notified to the winners by email or by telephone. The selected posters will be announced publicly at the end of May. The competition will be declared void if, in the jury's opinion, the quality of the entries is insufficient. In any case, the jury's decision shall be final. Non-winning posters will be filed by the event once the competition is over. FINAL ART OF THE WINNING POSTERS The final size of the posters will be 50 x 70 cm, in vertical format at 300 dpi. The authors of the winning posters must deliver the image of the poster in digital format in layers and vector format, with optimal quality and resolution for graphic reproduction. The fonts used must also be attached to the image of the poster. The winners will be asked to supply a brief CV to be published on the website of the festival with the winning poster. PRIZES A prize of two thousand euros (€2000) will be awarded to the author(s) of the poster chosen as the official image of the Festival and there will be two prizes of six hundred euros (€600) each for the authors of the posters representing the Meeting Point and Time for History sections, respectively. In accordance with current legislation, the prizes will be subject to withholding tax. OWNERSHIP OF THE WINNING POSTERS The International Film Festival of Valladolid (SEMINCI) will hold the industrial and intellectual property rights over the winning posters and may freely dispose of them for reproduction, distribution, publication or dissemination by any means. The organisers will have all rights to make partial or total modifications as required to adapt them to the necessary formats for their promotional material. The assignment of the intellectual property rights over the selected posters and their adaptations will be for an indefinite term. The use of posters will be exclusive to SEMINCI, where neither the winner nor any third party involved in the design or creation may apply it to any other customer by whom they are hired. This duty shall also apply to the winner's employees, even after they have stopped working for the winner. The ownership of the winner's intellectual property is presumed for its transfer to the organisers, SEMINCI. The winner must inform its employees. Failure to do so will be the exclusive fault of the winner and will not imply any reduction in the conveyance of intellectual property rights exclusively to the International Film Festival of Valladolid. CONSENT AND DATA PROTECTION For the purposes of Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December on the Protection of Personal Data, we inform you that by sending the personal data required on the entry form you consent to the processing thereof. The data will be included in a file controlled by the International Film Festival of Valladolid and will be exclusively for the internal use of this competition. However, we remind you that you have rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition to the processing of your data and may exercise the said rights by writing to the International Film Festival of Valladolid. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES Participation in this competition implies your knowledge and acceptance of the rules, as well as your acceptance of all decisions taken by the organisers so that the said rules can be interpreted and applied.
