Prior to This
• You will have
– Conducted an intervention planning process
– You will know the name of the student and the
teacher.
– You or your school team will know:
• What measure you will use for progress monitoring
• How much weekly progress you expect the student to make
(for the aimline).
• The name of the intervention you will use.
• Other details about who will conduct the intervention, how
often it will be conducted, etc.

Note
• The student must exist in the system.
• That is, you must first enter the following
information:
– School
– Teacher

If Using this System ONLY for Progress
Monitoring and Not Screening
• Most users will already have students in the
system
• Users who are using the system ONLY for
progress monitoring and use another type of
data management for screening will need to:
– Enter only the students they wish to set up for
progress monitoring.
– Since the decisions made by the system are based
on entering all students, if you are entering only some
students then the user should select the students for
intervention rather than relying on the system to do
so. Otherwise errors in selecting students may
results.

Intervention Selection
• If the intervention is in the area of reading
and you are using the six-step instructional
planning process you will know the scores
from “Finding the Reading Level”
• This will allow you to let the system
suggest the type of intervention needed.
– This is only available for READING.
– In math the system does not yet suggest
intervention options.

Now you Are Ready
• Now you are ready to begin entering progress
monitoring data.
• The first score you enter will be the first point on
the graph.
• If you did “Finding the Reading Level” then use
the median score from the lowest grade level
assessed as the first data point on the graph
(unless you are progress monitoring with
DIBELS or some other system, then use the first
progress monitoring session with probes from
that system).
