October 24, 2016 TO: Principals and Head Football Coaches of Region Qualifiers FR: Steve Savarese, Executive Director RE: Football Playoff Meeting Reminder The first football playoff organizational meetings will be held at the AHSAA Office Building, 7325 Halcyon Summit Drive, Montgomery, beginning October 29, 2016, for the teams that have qualified in region play. Due to limited space, it is requested that each school be represented by no more than two people (preferably the principal and head coach). The purpose of the meeting is to establish game sites according to the rules and guidelines in the 2016-17 AHSAA Sports book, coordinate game film swaps, issue game tickets, and handle other matters pertaining to the playoffs. FILM SWAP: All schools in the playoffs must exchange their last two game films but may exchange additional film by mutual agreement. If both schools agree to exchange films electronically or by any other way prior to the meeting that will be accepted; otherwise, the film exchange will take place at that morning meeting. Remember, if all schools participating provide their best quality films, the exchange will be fair and easy for all coaches. Every region qualifier must be represented at the first playoff meeting according to the following schedule: 9:00 a.m. – Classes 1A, 2A, 3A 10:30 a.m. – Classes 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A Each subsequent playoff round meeting is set for 9:30 a.m. HOME TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO ELECTRONICALLY REPORT FINAL GAME SCORES PROMPTLY TO C2C. All playoff game times will be set at 7:00 p.m. (CST) Each home team’s head football coach is responsible for having the score of his final regular season game (week 10), and all subsequent playoffs rounds, posted online on the member site within 40 minutes of the conclusion of the contest. Failure to post scores online within the 40 minutes of the conclusion of the contest will result in a $100.00 fine. If you have difficulty, text or call Ron Ingram 334-590-2232 before the deadline. REMINDER: It is mandatory that home teams report all remaining regular-season scores immediately after each contest. You must have the game on your schedule with the electronic contract completed or the game may not be available for you to report the score. Failure to report a regular-season score online by the deadline will result in a fine to the home team. Reporting scores can be done on line at C2C or straight from the sidelines by using the AHSAA mobile APP. The APP can be downloaded free at the Google, Android and Apple stores on line. To report scores using the APP, you must be checked in C2C with scorekeeper permission for that sport. The score can only be reported on the APP the day it is played. All playoff information for rounds 2-5 will be posted on the AHSAA website at www.ahsaa.com.
