“Ah”, the Holidays are right around the corner! Time to hang
mistletoe and holly, and trim your Christmas tree.
Enjoy celebrating this season with your friends at the Senior Center
in several different ways. Check out our Christmas Excursions, such
as A Brandywine Christmas at the Brandywine River Museum, the
Nutcracker performed by the Brandywine Ballet or Yuletide at
Winterthur. Grandparents, bring your grandkids to visit Santa at the
Center on Saturday, December 10th. There will be entertainment, fun
and games for all.
Don’t forget to join us for The Holiday Party on the 16th and the
Birthday Luncheon with Elvis Presley on the 21st.
Yes, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the Holidays at the
Downingtown Area Senior Center!
I want to take this time to wish you and all of your family and
friends a most blessed Holiday Season, with peace, joy and
happiness in the coming New Year!

Circle of Care
Circle of Care is an inclusive, non-medical, social model program which supports seniors age 60 or
over (with exceptions on a case by case basis) whose independence is limited due to cognitive or
physical decline*.
Participants are encouraged to enjoy all Center programming including:
- Arts & Crafts
- Exercise
- Socialization
- Cards & Games
- Lunch
- Special Events
- Cognitive stimulation
- Music & Entertainment - Wii Games
Additionally, participants enjoy specialized activities that focus on their
present strengths and are monitored regularly to follow the individual’s
improvement or decline. The goal of the program is to prolong
independence. Research demonstrates that the social interaction, exercise
and cognitive stimulation that are found within the senior center and the
Circle of Care Program provide the means to that end.
* The program is not intended for those individuals who require delivery of medication,
personal hygiene care, or for those who present a wandering risk.
Circle of Care … providing gentle and compassionate guidance and
care to those individuals who require a more structured day, enhancing their overall senior center
experience.
